Great gadget!
Purchased this to use on our hot water heater in the the event of a leak. Highly recommend and it works as described. This provides peace of mind knowing that in the event of a leak, you will be alerted!Easy setup:Install 2 AAA batteries (not included). Mount device using the included double sided sticky tape. Position the attached sensor cord so that the 2 nodes at end of cord are flush/touching the ground. You may want to use a bit of tape to keep them in place in the event they were accidentally bumped/disturbed. Turn on device via button located on side of device. Done!Alarm sound:Has two volume levels to select from (crazy loud and really loud... Lol). You will definitely hear it! The alarm sound has a varying pitched tone (VS a single steady pitched tone). When water touches the nodes, the alarm goes off. Once the alarm goes off, it will continue to run until you manually shut it off.Battery test:You have to manually check the device on occasion to ensure the batteries are still good. Press the test button located on front of device: If the green light comes on: batteries are good. If the green light does not come on: batteries need replacing.A few tips to consider since there are lots of different kinds/variations of this type of device:1. Before purchasing, verify where you will place the device factoring in that it only has a 6 inch cord. Ideally, you want the device to be easily accessible in event alarm goes off or for battery testing/changing batteries. I'd recommend this device for easy to access areas where the device will be within easy reach, but not a good choice for hard to reach areas due to short cord length.2. Decide if you want a basic version like this one (it just sounds alarm and you have to be at home to hear it) or other brands that offer wifi capable (will also alert you via phone when you are not at home).3. Many of these types of devices run on 9v battery or AAA. I preferred one one that ran on AAA batteries since I always have those on hand... VS 9v batteries which I never use and would have to buy just for this device.

So so loud and reliable
This thing is really loud! I keep it on Low and it's still loud. Makes my ears ring for an hour after hearing it.It works reliably. I mounted it next to my kegerstor which is plumbed to water dispenser. I use it to refill gallon jugs but I sometimes walk away while it's filling and forget about it. This alarm quickly reminds me!!I think it's too loud even on low so I'm going to either put it in a plastic bag or out some take over the speaker. I did that with another one and it significantly reduces the sound while still being audible. For my house layout, we don't need that much sound but everyone has different needs. I'm sure it could easily be heard from another floor in a 2 story home on high volume possibly even low.I used clear gift wrapping tape to mount the prong securely against the wall and touching the floor so it can't accidentally get knocked down. The unit is mounted with double side tape that's included. Great siren. I wish it had a 3rd even lower volume s the only suggested improvement.

I needed a LOUD alarm for a decent price
The sump pump in my house runs 24/7 and I needed an alarm to give me piece-of-mind. This did the trick. It was affordable and LOUD! It needed to be since it need to travel from the basement to wake me up if needed. Best of all, the batteries lasted a year before I needed to replace them.

simple, effective, great idea!
We live in an ancient (but homey) '77 Komfort travel trailer. I've slowly been resto-modding it- solar, plumbing/electric etc. I haven't yet got around to replacing the plumbing toilet line fixture (photo)- it has a slow leak or two with the valve on. Got it almost fixed with a few coats of PVC glue on the outlet side, previous owner teflon taped the input side. Thing is...if we forget to close the valve after use, the line will leak all night and come morning ewwwww stepping barefoot on a sopping wet piece of carpet on the shower floor is not a good way to wake up! (it's technically a "wet floor" but we hardly use the shower). So before I have to clean up yet another wet mess before morning coffee, this little screamer will catch any onsets of oldtimers disease lol! Low volume is loud, high is painfully loud. Battery indicator pushbutton, press to see a green light. Alarm goes off the instant water touches both contacts on the sensor. Used double sided tape on unit and sensor. Have yet to actually be warned as now I remember to turn the damn valve off lol....so far! 🤔🤣

Hope I dont need this, but its load.
My wife got distracted one day with a newly installed utility tub in the basement. The first time she walked away while it was filling, all over the floor, I said "Lucy! You have a lot of explaining to do." I used the wet/dry vac to pick up God knows how many gallons of water. But the second time, I implied, Karen, I thought you learned from ther first time. This time I wasn't happy.I ordered this and now the end simply hangs a few inches into the utility tub. Problem solved.

Already saved my living room
This has already saved my living room twice from a potential flood as I was dealing with a leaking aquarium filter that could have leaked 250L...

This is LOUD!
This is to detect water in the bilges on my boat. It does exactly that and it will wake the dead to let them know about it. So if you want a bilge flood alarm that is independent of your boat power supply, get this. You might be sorry if you didn't. Warning, let everyone know you are going to test it because it is so loud you can hear it 1 kilometre away over water.
