Great Product - Will Last You For Years, BUT with TWO Caveats . . . .
I had one of these that broke this last winter after years of great service. This is a very durable brush, and since I've never seen them again in a store after I bought the first one, I bought three on Amazon because the price was very reasonable. Two things, that you should know about before you order this.First, the one I had bought in the store was red and I liked that color very much. The ones I received from Amazon were some crazy day-glow-radioactive green and a very bright yellow with which I am less enamored. Beware the fact that "random" colors means that you probably will get the colors that no one else will buy in the store and that they likely will be this exact same wacky green and overly bright yellow. Not a deal breaker, but if that is something that bothers you, you should be aware of it. On the good side, there is absolutely zero chance that you ever will lose sight of these things in the snow.Second, these come with a sticker saying that it contains some substance that the state of California has found to cause cancer or birth defects. I don't remember this sticker on the old one. Which means either that the old one did not have that substance, or there's a new law requiring this sticker --- if I'd had to guess, I'd say it is the latter. Again, to me, this is of no importance, because other than taking it out of the box and putting it in my car, I'm usually wearing gloves when I'm using a snowbrush and ice hammer, so I probably never will come into contact with whatever substance is supposed to cause me harm. However, if you are sensitive to these things, you should be aware of it.

Solid buy if you just need a basic tool to get the job done
Feels decent in the hand, seems sturdily built, scrapes solid ice quickly and well. The brush doesn’t clump up, it shakes the snow off itself just fine. It’s nothing miraculous, and it won’t be adequate to reach the roof of a truck or suv, but that should be obvious given the length. Worth the money. And no, you don’t get to pick your color, but it cracks me up that some people care about this. For the record, mine is red.

A beefy, strong ice scraper/snow brush
I've had a lot of bad experiences with those cheap ice scrapers in the past. One broke while I was scraping, and as my hand flew into the ice, I tore a tendon on my right hand, making it useless for weeks. I couldn't properly use my manual gear shift.I moved into a snow area again, and I was going to buy one that would do the job without breaking. And after searching through Amazon, I settled on this one. It's hefty, with really strong plastic. I tested it out, scraping some ice that had built up on the windshield overnight, and it powered through it. No torn tendons. My only concern (and it doesn't deserve a drop of one star) is that the padded handle might not last very long. It seems to be light, and it shifts a lot on the handle. I might remedy that with some duct tape or something. But all-in-all, this is a premiere ice scraper. If you live in the cold areas, this might be more expensive than the garbage you buy from your local auto parts store, but this will last several seasons.

seems well-made & durable
I use this tool mostly for cleaning snow and slush out of the wheel wells and off the rocker panels of the car (before putting it in the garage) on the too-frequent days when the roads are slushy. I also sometimes use it for brushing snow off the car when I've left it parked outside in the snow. I do not use the ice scraper (I have another, smaller tool for that very occasional use), and found that the scraper part got in my way when trying to fit the brush into the wheel well. I had to cut and file the scraper off -- no simply detaching it or breaking it! Anyway, good value for the money, though shipping cost more than the tool itself.

pretty good!
when i opened the box i realized that the item is was larger than expected, also, the body part was red and the one shown in the picture is blue, this is not a problem to me, i actually like the color red better, but i could imagine other might consider this a blasphemy, but they do warn you colors may vary.the hopkins subzero ice hammer snowbrush does exactly what it was meant to do, take in consideration that the scraper is no wider than 3 inches, so it doesnt cover a large area at once, but instead you must scrape back and forward many times before the whole windshield is cleared. but once you are done the brush side should make it easy removing the excess ice left over.i believe the product was well thought out. its thin and short enough to fit behind the seat of my single-cab ford ranger, but long enough to reach the middle of the windshield without much effort.it may not be very efficient on blizzard condition, which probably a shovel would be better for a situation of that caliber, but it works perfect for my west texas early morning frosted windshield dilemma.very useful, practical, efficient. 5 stars

Sturdiest scraper I've ever used
My "old" snowbrush scraper wasn't cutting it anymore, so I figured I'd try something beyond "the cheapest in the store," though I bought this for $4.99, I think.First impression: Dang, this thing is solid! It's heavy compared to other scrapers, but the weight isn't uncomfortable, just makes me think this might be of better quality that the ones I typically buy. It's also a lot less work to scrape - I've only had to do one pass with long, smooth strokes rather than short over-and-over ones, and we've had snow, ice, frost, etc. all week.Color: Mine came in red. I don't have a color preference, because honestly, scrapers aren't a fashion accessory. They just need to work.

Look great and work even better. Would and have recommended to others 100%!!!!
These are such perfect scrapers. I live in north eastern Indiana and we have a lot of snow, ice, and frost every winter. These scrapers tackle all of it with no problem. Very comfortable handle and the angle is perfect for cars and suvs. I have given these to several family members and they have all said how well they work compared to other ones. Only thing is I wish you could pick your color. However so far I have been lucky and gotten ones that I would have picked. Except for this last one. It was yellow. Still looks ok but not a color I would have picked. However I have gotten lucky with a lime green, pink, red, and blue ones.
