I stand corrected-missing pins.
At first I thought the item was faulty- missing pins, but after reading another review it made me think. Two of the male ends don't require all 4 pins as it is a tacho signal, all fans can't send a signal back to one header so the missing pins, as the previous reviewer stated, are by design.I stand corrected and am happy with the product now.

It has pins missing - but that's why you're buying this, isn't it?
There's only one cable that has 4 pins to connect to the fans, the others have 3. What you're essentially doing with a fan splitter, like this one, is that you're telling your motherboard that there's basically only one fan being connected. The 4th pin, that is missing for two of the cables, is used to check the speed the fan is running - you don't need to know the speeds for all 3 of the fans you're connecting. The cable with the 4 pins will tell your motherboard the speed of the fans and this speed will be what all 3 fans will run at.If you want to control the fan speeds individually for all 3 fans, you'll have to look elsewhere. Frankly, I don't even think it's possible since the BIOS of your motherboard will try to control just one fan for the different headers you use.

ITS MEANT TO NOT HAVE 4PINS ON ALL HEADERS
**ITS MEANT TO HAVE ONLY ONE HEADER WITH 4 PINS**Ok shouting out of the way - it's insanely frustrating seeing people saying this hasn't been properly made because "only one of the 3 fan headers had 4 pins". It only shows you've not got a clue how pwm fans actually work.I picked this up from Amazon warehouse (presumably after someone returned it for the above stupid reason) when my cases inbuilt fan controller decided it wasn't going to work any more - and I needed to connect 3 fans to my one remaining free motherboard fan headerIt works an absolute treat, is well made with nicely applied heatshrink and good quality braided sleeving - not too thin and just flexible enough to be easy to route as needed. Now to address the 4pin issue people keep raising;Pwm fans allow a controller to monitor and alter the fans rpm based on a pulse signal - the 4th wire.If you connected 3x fans, all sending potentially different rpm signals down a single cable, the controller wouldn't be able to understand - it'd either see one massive rpm reading or more likely nothing at all.So these adapter cables HAVE to have one 'master fan' - that is the fan that sends it's pwm signal back to the controller. That's your 4 pin header, and is the fan off whose RPM will be reported back to the motherboard, and any 'speed up' or 'slow down' voltage adjustments will be sent based on itThe other 2x HAVE to be 'slave' fans - that just need power and whose rpm is essentially irrelevant - they will speed up or slow down based on the voltage adjustments made by the motherboard, which will be based on the rpm feedback from the master fan.If all 3x headers had 4 pins the splitter wouldn't work properly.

Potential installation issues
Fairly decent product, but there's some potential issues with installation. The three fan connectors on this splitter are not identical. One of them has 4 pins, the others have 3. The one with 4 pins MUST be connected to a fan, otherwise you cannot control any of the fans' speeds. This is not explained in any documentation and I wasted an hour or two troubleshooting this problem in order to control the fan speeds and achieve a quiet build.Other than that, the product seems well-made and reliable.

Works perfect
Ignore the reviews that say there were pins missing, this is by design and is meant to be.Worked perfectly as my pc case had 5 fans and my motherboard only had 2 connections for fans.

Perfect expansion if your limited have headers.
I ordered a few of these (some for future builds). Does what it's supposed to allowing multiple fans connected to one motherboard header. My build has 9 Corsair ll120 fans, 3 are fitted to the rad.

Cheap, does the job
Ok so it's a cheap fan splitter. It feels cheap and doesn't look particularly well made or strong but if your looking for a cheap product to get the job done then it works fine. Beyond that it does feel cheap and the shrink-wrap on mine looks like it's ready to fall off.
