Small, compact with accurate readings.

Very compact. Nice "logarithmic" graduations in both ounces and grams. Accurate within ~5%
Perfect for letters and for darts! It's graduated on one side in ounces and the other side in grams. One of the first things I noticed is how the resolution and sensitivity are more precise for smaller weights than for heavier weights. That's a unique feature from how the counterweight gradually moves from nearly vertical for light objects to nearly horizontal for heavy ones, and enables weighing things from just a couple of grams to 100 grams while maintaining accuracy of a few percent, which might be ±1 gram for smaller objects, or ±5 grams for heavier things. How practical! I compared the accuracy for several objects from around half an ounce or 15 grams, up to 50 grams (nearly 2 oz). For each thing I weighed, I checked the weight on my much nicer triple beam balance, and this little handheld scale was accurate within the precision I could read it. Without having tested it, I wouldn't have trusted it as much. It has a little friction in it, so you can weigh the same object and get the scale to read a range of numbers (a dart that weighs 22 grams could read anywhere from 20-24), but you can fool with it for a couple of seconds and get an idea of when you're in the middle of the range that friction will allow it to stop at. And once you're there, mine is reading the same value that my good scale does. Using this, I will have confidence when I send a letter whether I need to add a second stamp. If I have a bulky envelope, I'll clip it to this sucker. If it's over an ounce or very close, I'll add a second stamp and call it good. No mail returned to sender for insufficient postage, and no guessing and wasting unnecessary stamps. And like I said, it's also a fun thing to have on hand if you meet friends to throw darts, and portable enough to bring along.

Valuable Accessory
I love this kind of scale. Ordered this one to replace an identical one that disappeared. Small, handy and accurate - I checked it against the post office scale, dead on!
