The reviews seem to be all over the map on this unit, so your mileage may vary. Installed on a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, added eRapta ERT01 backup camera and Metra 70-1761radio wiring harness. The brackets that come with the radio will not work on the Toyota, one of the stock brackets worked with no mods, one had to have 2 holes drilled. No other hardware for mounting was needed. There is a bezel around the front of the radio, that will pop right off, to match the stock radio. The most time consuming part was soldering the 2 wiring harnesses together.The unit sounds great, the volume that many complained about seems to work fine for me, no big jumps in volume, it mutes somewhat when you go into reverse, I assume to direct your attention to the backup camera. The camera function works well, no flickering noticed. I really like the micro SD slot, it's much better than having a USB stick out in the front. The unit does come with a short rear USB also, but you would need a USB extension cable to be able to use it. I did verify that the FM radio seems to work well, but I didn't buy this to listen to commercials.All in all, I feel like I got a lot of product, for a very good price. As with all things, time will tell how it holds up, but it seems to be well made, not flimsy. If you are handy working inside the dash, it isn't hard to install, but it will requite a little modifying, so if you don't have the tools, take it somewhere and have it installed.

4.5 stars. I purchased this aftermarket radio after reading multiple reviews. I purchased the wiring harness for my vehicle as well. I have a 2008 Toyota Sienna. I also purchased the double DIN mount for my vehicle make and model. Another must to make installation easy. The mount and harness came together in another Amazon purchase for an extra $25My original radio swallowed a CD and would give it back. My family lives listening to books on tape when traveling. This was awful and we waited just under two years to make a new radio purchase. This would be my first aftermarket install.I purchased some tools for removing the paneling quickly and without damage. This was an extra $9Read some other posts and you'll find out about grounding and the parking brake wire. You may want to use a toggle switch and expoxy the switch to the top of the brake frame so your foot can toggle the switch, just saying. Toggle switches are about $6.I chose to solder the wire harness on and use heat shrink to make a cleaner wire connection than nuts or butt end splice. I already had the solder iron b and the extra solder was about $4 .I already had the heat gun and heat shrink.My first go with the radio with the kids was to Grandma's house. No fighting at all. Occasionally, I can't see. Did good. Only problem was kids didn't sleep while traveling. Not too bad.The only real issue I didn't like was the lack of ease with the radio. The seek for radio is not present. You have to go through each station to set up your radio channels. This is also not very good for travel. Minus 1/2 star for that.The blue tooth works very good. Mounted the Mic up high on the back of the light above the rear view mirror. Works really good and used up most of the Mic wire and it's hidden. Tried out Bluetooth calling grandma and she could hear skill the kids even in the back row.Streaming also works good. Only heard an occasional click like a turntable click. Don't know if it is the radio the phone or the streaming company. Not a big issue.So if your willing to purchase the mount, wire harness, tools, it will cost a little more but make the installation easy. Great product. Low price. Do it.

I wanted to wait until I had some time to use and learn this unit before I posted my review. Since the reviews here are all over the place I thought I would try to give the best opinion I can. I'll cover installation, usage and features that I have opted to use so that hopefully it will be useful.INSTALLATION: This is not the 1st radio I have installed but it is the first double DIN I have done. As far as installing it was no different that what I have experienced with other after market radios. The wiring instructions are printed very small in the supplied book, but it was not at all difficult to figure out. I used a harness to match the factory harness in my car. I soldered all the wire connections and the wires held solder very well. For reference I installed this in a 2009 Toyota Camry SE. In order for me to utilize the steering wheel control I need another accessory. I did try hooking directly to the harness with the wires from the unit to the three corresponding wires on my vehicle but it didn't work. Your vehicle may be different than mine.USAGE/FEATURES: the touchscreen is very responsive and feels comfortable to use. However, I will prefer to use my steering wheel controls while driving since it is a little distracting finding the source and songs/station while driving. This is just my preference and shouldn't be used as a negative towards the unit itself. Navigating the features and what not are easy to learn and not very cumbersome to learn. I have used the Bluetooth feature to stream Pandora, music and even YouTube audio through the head unit and it worked as expected. The hands free calling works well and the phone conversation is clear and audible. As a note: If you enter the car on the phone and turn the radio on, it will switch to hands free once it pairs with the phone, which is cool, but be aware that if you were listing to the radio at high volume, the call will be very loud! This did happen to me and provided a nice laughter session during the conversation! USB/SD both work very well. I have opted to just use the SD card feature mostly and occasionally use the USB for variation of music. The AM/FM tuner works well and since I only listen to FM for morning talk shows I really can't go into reception quality or usage. But from what little time I played around with it, it is easy to use and sound quality is what I expect from terrestrial broadcast. DVD works well. It doesn't playback DTS at all, and only stereo from Dolby Digital. Not a deal breaker for me, I w really don't plan on using this as my primary movie source. DVD Audio does work but with stereo only, but I am OK with that as well. REAR-VIEW capability is something I am interested in but have not hooked up yet. I have to still find a camera and plan on how I will run the wires form the tag area on my car. Once I have done that and used it a day or two I will update the results here.Overall I am pleased with the unit. The volume the built in amp is capable of playback at higher volumes than I actually use and is distortion free. I am not running the speakers through any external amplifiers. I have 4 6X9 speakers hooked up to the unit. I do have a powered sub-woofer running off the Pre-Output (RCA). At first I used the sub-woofer pre-out and it was not loud enough for me to hear the bass punch I desire. I then used the front pre-outs for the sub-woofer and that made a difference. For the money I paid for this unit I am very pleased, I know if I spent a little more I could get some additional features but I had a small budget the improve the speakers/radio and add a sub-woofer.Four of Five stars review for the features and design. Less one star for lack of EQ and ability to change wallpapers from factory settings. There are 4 such wallpapers to select from however. Please note: If you are looking for top line features this is not the unit for you. If you want Iphone inter-connectivity and control, this is not the unit for you. If you want a decent touchscreen with several modern features at a good price, this might be an item for you. I hope this was useful and if I have any issues I will update my review, otherwise, so far so good!Update #1: I installed the Metra Axxess ASWC-1 and I can confirm that it does work with this radio. I would recommend to also get the proper harness for your vehicle as well. I was able to find the one for mine and it made the install a breeze. You do have to map the commands to the radio and the GUI interface is a little confusing, but not impossible to figure out!Update #2 (12/26/2014): The screen doesn't like cold weather! On very cold mornings the screen looks a little alien and/or doesn't come on at all. It is a little annoying, but once the unit warms and and power cycle the unit it works properly. I am not sure if this is a common problem with all LCD based units or not (I would imagine it is) but I figured it was worth an update. (02/28/2015) I wanted to clarify that this is not a common problem. It only has happened a few times and the temps were under 20 degrees. Thankfully, where I live that is vary rare!Update #3 (12/26/2014): On both the SD Card and USB connection, if you quickly skip songs the unit will reboot. I have experimented to see if it is the .mp3 or the card and have isolated that it is the radio itself. What I have done to reduce the rebooting during song selection playback is let the song play a few seconds than skip to the next one. Also it is much worse if you use random play. (02/28/2015) I have since updated my music on both USB and SD cards, and the problem has gone away. I do not believe that the problem was the radio, rather the files on my drives. I noticed that I had some .ogg music on the disks and those were the songs that were making the radio reboot.Update #4(02/28/2015) Added a back up camera and it works as expected. No complaints or problems with the use or install of the device. I would recommend having a professional install it for you if you are nervous or inexperienced at making modifications to sheet metal on your car! I had to drill a 10mm hole on an interior panel of my trunk for the wires to run through. Also as part of the update I have taken some pictures of the radio in action and made a short video.Overall impressions of the radio are fairly positive. It is a good radio on a budget that has several features that make it flexible for several types of users. In all honesty I may replace the unit with a different brand, not because I have anything negative about this brand or radio, but I would like additional features that this unit doesn't have.

Fits my 2004 WRX very nicely. I had to do some modifications, nothing drastic though. So when mounting my WRX stock mounting plate (from the stock radio) to the unit and then installing it into the head unit, the boss audio radio was "set back" a little from the "face plate". So basically there was a tiny gap from the face of the radio panel to the screen. So what i did was add a few (2-3) washers to "push" it out a little more and now it sits flush with the face of the panel....just a note...a couple times (2) when turning my car on, the screen was faded a little, i turned the radio set off and back on and it solved the problem so keep that in mind.UPDATE May 13, 2015....be aware that turning volume up all the way may cause distortion in sound, i have yet to mess around with sound settings to figure out where exactly the issue is, if its with the unit or the amount of output power....but i do notice that with some songs the lyrics come out "scratchy"Also what i did was purchase a wiring harness so i didnt have to cut/splice all the wires to the stock harness. That worked out well (also bought that through amazon).The touch screen works well, i haven't figured out how to properly get the blue tooth to work for my cell phone - it will play the music fine, but for the "hands free" calling, i cant seem to get them to hear my voice - i will tinker with that sometime soon and hopefully figure it out.Cool features - you can pick a background you'd like (if i remember correctly there are 4 different options) when playing a CD. Just thought that was kinda cool. The touch screen works well, sometimes takes a little more pressure to get the buttons to work, but i actually like that better so its not like "oops touches the screen now the next song it on".Good product and it comes with a 1 year manufacturing warranty

MY VOICE IS HOARSE, I CAN NO LONGER SCREAM AT IT!The installation was not easy (2009 Toyota Venza). The radio comes with thousands of mounting holes (Not literally). But of all the options available I couldn't find ONE that fit. I had to modify my mounting bracket - what a job that was. But I finally got it mounted (and wired).Let me start with what I like (sort of): The radio accepts input from my steering wheel. However, the options are not user friendly. Sure, I can scan up and down and can turn the volume up and down, but the mode button, which I can assign various functions, could not be used to select between "MODES". GO FIGURE! NO "MODE" OPTION!. OK, so you have to touch the screen.Now on to some of the lesser appreciated features - the touch screen. It's almost like a tactile button, you have to PUSH the screen to get it to do something. And yes, for those of you who might wonder 'did he take the protective plastic screen off?' Well, YES, I DID. Touch screen is difficult but not impossible. And I know my wife is going to insist I put back the factory radio within days of using it. OK, so that's one negative about it - the touch screen. The NEXT negative thing I have to say is the USB and the SD chip slots: They're difficult to get things into - especially if you have fat fingers like I do. OK, got them in. BUT: Try playing random tracks. FORGET-ABOUT-IT! I DID get it to work a few times, but when I came out of the store it was back on Radio (which I was playing USB at the time). Sometimes the radio actually comes back on USB - oh, and yes, for some of you who are wondering 'did he wire it right?' Yes. The yellow wire goes to battery positive and the red wire goes to ACC. The radio DOES retain radio station memory, so it's not mis-wired.I don't know why but every device I plug into the radio always starts with Crosby Stills & Nash! (unless it's not on the disk) It ignores Alice Cooper, Boston and anything else with a lower alphabetical rating. And I just spent a couple hours preparing a brand new SD card (32 GIG)(C10). Got all the music I wanted just the way I wanted it. All the radio had to do was simply PLAY them. Aside from starting at CSN, when I forced it to select Blue Oyster Cult (three songs on the album) the display showed 1 of 6, 3 of 6 and 5 of 6. THERE'S ONLY THREE SONGS IN THAT FOLDER! tracks #2, 4 & 6 are "Audio File Unsupported". And the frustrating thing about it is that some files will play without the annoying pause while it decides the file is unsupported. And in some cases it would go from unsupported to unsupported to unsupported to unsupported before it finds something it likes to play.Ever play the lottery? You surely HOPE to win but you don't EXPECT to. Well, I read several reviews and saw that a lot of people like theirs. Some didn't. And many of the complaints I thought could be traced to user error. Well, I've been around long enough to know how to install a stereo. In fact, I've probably installed 20 in my lifetime and probably 8 in the last 10 years.I thought I'd get lucky and be one of the satisfied customers. I'm NOT buying any lottery tickets this weekend - that's for sure. Oh,and the name? I didn't realize it at first, this is a "BOSS" radio. NOT a BOSE radio. Apparently there's a BIG difference. And not just in price. AND I'M NOT THROUGH COMPLAINING YET!Assuming the volume control works from 1 to 30, 30 being the loudest it gets. As you go from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and so on you expect the volume to go up in a linear fashion. NOT MINE! It goes up (for example) from (lets start with something you can hear - SEVEN). OK, so it goes 7 to 7 to 9 to 10 to 10 to 10 to 13. With the stereo volume knob AND with the volume control on the steering wheel.This radio is in my wife's car. And she gets short tempered with things that don't work like they're supposed to. I KNOW I'm going to be pulling this thing right back out. After all the time I spent altering the brackets to mount the radio in the right location (two day installation), properly and with high quality, I soldered and shrink sleeved all the connections from the radio harness to the installation kit I also bought (not impressed there either). Paying attention to every detail I made a professional looking wire harness that just plugs in. Well, all that hard work and I'm probably going to be pulling this piece of junk back out of her car.Well I'm going to quit my BlTCHING about it and go watch TV. Maybe Mork & Mindy is on tonight. Something more intelligent than the radio.Should you buy it? This is just my opinion but I think you should look elsewhere - somewhere that manufactures REAL radios, not something that LOOKS like the real thing. The only "Real" thing about this radio is that I'm sorry I purchased it. I'll be talking to the supplier in short order - no doubt! Well, there's another thing I'm wrong about - I THOUGHT I'd be talking to the supplier but they don't want to talk to me. I can find no way to contact them.

For the price, this can't be beat (at least, not very easily). I was so happy when I saw that the stereo came with its own wiring harness. When I pulled the old stereo out, it already had the correct harness for my 4Runner, so I separated the two harnesses and put the new one together with the old one for the car. On the Amazon "Does it Fit?" section, it said it would fit my 1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5, but it did not. I had to hand-file the dash faceplate until the stereo could fit through. It is not noticeable because it was done very neatly, but I still know in my mind that I had to modify a part of my car to get it to work.Pros: It sounds great, the bluetooth is a nice feature (seeing that I can control my phone from either the head unit or from my Apple Watch), It is NOT very complicated to operate, the size of the unit is perfect, the touchscreen feature is very nice, I know the DVD player works but I did not ground the wire (so that can be my next project), I can talk on speaker phone, I can sync my contacts for making calls, and when a call comes in, I can accept it from the stereo.Cons: The interface is a bit slow, the software is basically crap, the USB ports don't work correctly, the AUX does not work correctly, bluetooth is a slight bit fuzzy, the unit takes a long time to turn on after starting the car, the light ring around the volume knob is not there as it was advertised, [when switching from the volume level "6" to "7", there is a substantial difference in the volume, but it is only between those two numbers], the screen is pretty dim in direct sunlight (but what do you expect?), and the touch sensitivity is okay - but not great.Overall, it is decent for the price, but I recommend spending a little extra cash and getting either a Kenwood or Pioneer. I have had this unit for a few weeks now and I still enjoy it a lot more than my old stereo. I can assure you that the features that I am having problems with are because of the head unit, NOT because of the wiring. My electrical engineer of a brother did all of the work professionally and correctly (needless to say, I trust him and his work). If you are not confident in doing this yourself, take it to a local stereo shop and pay them to do it. I promise you, it will save you a lot of time and headache. I just bought the Boss Audio system for my 2003 Subaru Outback. I needed something to listen to the music on my phone while I drove, and I heavily judge other people when they drive with headphones in, so I decided not to go that route. My car is slightly too old to have any bluetooth or USB capabilities, and slightly too new to have a cassette where I could plug in one of those aux cord to cassette things. Luckily, I came across this head unit and it's probably the nicest thing currently in my car, and it only cost me just over $100. It's amazing for the price. Without further ado, let's get to the pros and the cons.Pros:- The bluetooth works nicely, I now have more options than fuzzy country music!- It looks awesome in the car- I can pretend I'm rich with a touchscreen radio- I easily got my money's worth in the first month of listening to Spotify on road trips- The fitment is flawlessCons:- Get the damn adapter harness!! It took me somewhere around 96 years to install this wire by wire without an aftermarket harness.- It takes like 8 seconds to start running the radio from when you start the car (it's not that big of a deal)- It doesn't have some features that a higher end touch screen radio would have- You can ground the parking brake wire and watch DVDs while driving (I'm not 100% sure that's a con)Overall:This radio is the best purchase I've made for my car and I keep trying to show my friends at every single chance. It's a great deal for what you get. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if I needed one, but I'm too poor to have two cars. It's not the best head unit, but it's the best for the price.

I spent several months looking at units for my daily driver truck which is quite old and ultimately settled for this unit due to the amount of features, the overall average reviews, the fact my truck is old/not worth much investment, and low price of this unit.A detailed write up of my observations/experience so far with this unit (go to bottom for tl;dr):1. Install-Very straightforward if you've installed systems before and really there's no need for a manual since the wiring harness is marked as long as you buy the wiring harness adapter for your vehicle and/or look up the correct wires.-The rear view camera appears to be activate on video, or activate via signal cable via reverse. I used the activate on video signal as I already had the backup camera wired to the reverse lights and it powers on automatically.-The antenna input is in the unit and so far works fine, don't forget to run power to your power antenna if you have one, or you might not get great reception. I tied in my power antenna power cable to the unit power so it activate with the vehicle power on. No issues with radio reception at all.-Inputs/Outputs - I'm not currently using these but they are there.-has rear/front USB ports.-auxillary microphone, this unit comes with the auxillary mic and adhesive. It plugs into the 3.5mm jack on the harness. The mic reception is great, I installed it through dash, up the pillar, and behind the rearview mirror near the center front of the vehicle on the windshield. It is one of the best microphones I've used and calls are very clear for both me and the other person(s).*Note: If you want to bypass the video restrictions you will want to wire your parking wire to something that's always activated while the vehicle is on such as the power. Do at your own risk, but a nice feature if you have passengers/kids and want the video to play while moving for them.2. Functionality-Bluetooth - connects quickly and supports audio pass through. auto activates if you have an app open. The only downside is that some contacts don't seem to display the name from my phone book on the head unit for incoming calls- not sure if that is my device, and/or some technicality in the way the phone number is saved or this actual unit. The unit supports having multiple phones added, but is a bit weird in switching them. This unit does not support any Android Auto or iPhone Driving integrations, but it doesn't claim to so no problems here.-Radio - tunes well and presets are easy to set, just hold down and it saves the stations.-DVD/CD - haven't used this yet.-Front Micro SD Card Slot - I tried a few times to use a 128gb micro sd card for some random test videos, the product states it only supports 32gb so maybe it's just my fault, but if not all I get is incorrect media format errors or I can see the videos, but they won't play.-Front USB - same issue as SD Card slot, not sure if my video formats, but won't play my .mp4 or .mpeg videos of 64gb USB Stick.-Touchscreen/Responsiveness/Readability - never seems to lag works well for me. Has brightness adjustment, I never have issues with glare, but never did as this unit is not mounted at an angle. Supports auto-dim if your vehicle has the dim feature when headlights go on for night driving (most new vehicles do).-UI/Icons/Usuability - works well, icons not customizable, you can't put the most commonly used icons on the first screen, instead you have 3 hard coded home screens. Not a big deal for me. One downside is that there is no menu option to change the led color of the head unit buttons.-Backup Camera - touched on this earlier, but this works well and automatically activates on reverse if installed properly.-remote - works well and comes with a batter, I don't use it much though, just tried it out a few times.tl;dr - works well overall on major functions, lacks ability to customize home screens or button backlight colors. Comes with microphone, harness, and remote. Have had issues with MicroSD/USB but probably just me. Bluetooth quality great, supports Bluetooth passthrough and phone calls.

This is a great system.It was a bit of a challange to get in my Ram due to metal brackets from the factory deck. Great sound, looks great as well.

I like the audio system however, my phone/ipod doesn't work through the USB lead and only plays via Bluetooth. With regards to charging my phone this can only be done when the phone is turned off and I am unable to listen to the radio whilst the phone is connected.

Ho fatto il reso spero che mi venga restituito il mio denaro.

Excelente relación calidad precio, la pantalla funciona muy bien, es rápida, fácil de vincular y fácil de instalar, lo instalé en un Mazda 3 2012 y quedó muy bien.
