It seems as good as oe.
For some reason fault codes kept registering as break lights not working. They were no issue. But I just changed the switch and it seems as though this fixed the fault issue?. So worth it for 8 £.

Great easy fix
This little switch did the trick!Our Polo 1.4 came up with a warning light ( EPC ) on the dash and believe it or not, the fault was the brake light switch (on the pedal). For a few quid the swap over for this one has cured the problem. Brake lights now working again and with the help of a mates OBD II thingy (which you can get for a few quid) the light was turned out and all back to normal again.There were even instructions in the box as to how to fit it.So...if you own a VW Polo or any car with a similar switch (4 pin) and your brake lights go out and your EPC light comes on, give this a go for a few quid.

The only type of brake light switch you can install yourself
There are four types of these switches, this is the only one you will realistically be able to install yourself. Very easy to use. All the other types break when you try to install and calibrate them.

Good item, worked out box on 02 golf PD130.
Good item seems to work out the box for 02 MK4 Golf PD130 with 4 pin connector, new switch green and slightly larger than original but all fitted OK and works fine (Need start engine for ECU to re-register switch).

Misleading
Misleading title. Purchased believing it was a clutch switch. Its only a brake light switch which is not what I needed.
