This flashlight is rugged, beautiful and bright and still going storng after 18 months!
The media could not be loaded. This is a flashlight made by one of the top manufacturers in the industry and that is why I purchased it from Amazon. It has become one of my go to flashlights for work around the house and I love being able to control the levels of brightness to fit the job I am doing. I have a small collection of high-power LED flashlights and my brightest one just died. It was only 6 weeks old and had seen limited use of probably less than an hour of on time totally. I decided to replace it with this flashlight as it was so highly rated and spoken of well in reviews as being reliable. I am looking for a bright and long lasting flashlight for security for our home and something that my wife can use with ease in case of an emergency. We have a lot of storms and power outages and this flashlight is ideal for those types of conditions. My Fenix TR35 arrived from Amazon and I am already in love with it. It is beautifully machined and the anodized surface is well done, military class quality. I use top quality 18650 batteries in my flashlights so I installed two Panasonic NCR18650A cells that feature battery protection circuits for over voltage and over current protection. Here is a link to the best batteries and charger that I have found for 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries.TWO 3400mAh 18650 PROTECTED Orbtronic (Panasonic Inside) Li-ion Rechargeable 3.7V Batteries & 2 Amp FAST battery charger Xtar SP2 KitThis light is bright and light weight and first class quality. I have posted a video review to give you some details about the flashlight and I hope it is helpful to you. I rate this product as a 5 star product for quality and design. The proof will be in the long term use and I will keep this post updated if any issues arise. One of my concerns about security flashlights is long term use and reliability. When my last flashlight (another brand) stopped working after being on for two minutes, it makes you wonder how good a security flashlight is that does not work when you need it.My favorite features:* The flashlight allows you to use over the counter CR123 batteries or my favorites 18650 rechargeable batteries.* It is extremely bright at 860 lumens but what I like the most is the tight bright center for long range projection of the light beam.* The flashlight is extremely rugged and durable; it is submersible up to 6 ½ feet and drop resistant for 3 feet (1 Meter).* I like the lanyard that comes with it so I won't drop it when my hands are wet or I am wearing gloves.* The shape of the handle lets you get a good grip onto the case of the flashlight.* It has four lighting modes for Low (130 hours), Medium (23 hours), High (6 hours and 48 minutes), and Turbo (1 hour 37 minutes).* In addition it has a high intensity flashing mode at 860 lumens and an SOS mode at 120 lumens.* I like the two button design so that when you turn on the light it comes on in exactly the same mode at the last time you used it.* Beautifully machined and finished. It is a rugged design.* It uses high quality 18650 rechargeable batteries like Panasonic that are protected from over voltage and over current issues.* The flashlight and lanyard weighs 9 ½ ounces and with batteries installed it weighs 12 ¾ ounces.* The flashlight has a 24 month warranty that can be extended to 30 months by registering the product. After that there is a limited lifetime guarantee where they repair it for parts replaced only.My only slight negative is that I have big hands and the flashlight case just feels about 1 ½ to 2 inches too short for my hand. It is a personal thing and I can live with the issue but the light is so nicely designed that I just would have liked it to be more comfortable in my hand. This is an outstanding product and I recommend it to you.

Handy high-powered flashlight with a few missed opportunities
Ordered this light on the solid Fenix reputation and my experience with the excellent PD32 pocket-sized flashlight. I wanted a flashlight that produced at least double the light intensity of the PD32, for long-range illumination and providing bright illumination during power-outages and for camping. The TK35 achieves this in a fairly compact package and without excessive weight. It has a few design flaws but for most purposes is a durable, capable, very bright flashlight.Pros* High efficiency -- over 100 lm/W* Impressively bright at its higher settings -- enough to easily discern objects at a couple hundred feet at night* Uses the excellent 18650 battery, which offers longevity, high power output and affordability relative to the fairly lightweight package* Offers coated optics on the front glass for reduced losses due to reflection* Carries an IPX8 rating (I tested in the sink, and it's fine at that minimal pressure)* Several lanyard mounting points (and it comes with a woven lanyard, too)* Excellent machine work -- no skimping on thread quality* O-ring sealed* The battery caddy is keyed to eliminate reverse-voltage failures* The on/off switch is physically larger than the setting switch, enabling operation without looking at the tailcap* Highly durable case -- it is milled and anodized aluminum rather than relying on thin, seam-welded steelCons* The light output is yellow-greenish, rather than a neutral 5000-5500K white* Again Fenix fails to make a flashlight that stands on its tailcap. This would have been very easy with both the PD32 and the TK35, but they missed the opportunity with both flashlights, requiring modification or settling for reduced usability* Not as hand-friendly as the PD32 in terms of its machined edges* Does not offer a super-low setting; instead the lowest setting produces around 15 lumens. It would be more useful for a broad array of night uses if it had a super-low setting that produced around 6 lumensOther thoughtsThe lack of fidelity regarding color output is a drawback, but that is overshadowed for me by the design failure regarding use of the tailcap for temporary mounting, as in on a table. This really should be a fundamental goal with all flashlights. Given the odd shape of the body, standing it upright on an aftermarket or modded base will challenge many users.
