I’m very happy with the EPICA Countertop Compost Bin Kitchen 1.3 Gallon Stainless Steel. It’s the perfect size for everyday kitchen use and fits nicely on the counter without taking up too much space. The stainless steel design looks clean and modern, and the lid with carbon filter really helps keep odors under control—no unpleasant smells at all. It’s easy to clean, durable, and well-made. Overall, a great solution for managing food scraps and reducing waste. Highly recommended for anyone starting composting at home!

I got this to collect compost inside my home for about a week before taking it outside, and it works really well for that. My AC runs all day, so I have not had any issues with odors or anything decomposing inside. It stays clean and manageable as long as I empty it weekly. It looks nice and the stainless steel feels like good quality. I also like that it fits easily in the kitchen without looking out of place. I clean it every week after taking the compost out, and so far no issues at all.

UPDATE - September 2025: I still have this bin and use it daily. It hasn't rusted, broken, or had any other issues. It has been banged on the side of my outdoor compost bin (to get the little bits stuck at the bottom out) probably thousands of times at this point and it's still looking and functioning great. Still 5 stars. - Original review: I have zero complaints about this compost bin, for which reason I am giving it five stars, because that's how Amazon reviews work. However, based a couple of reviews that I'm reading now, I'm guessing that the main reason I'm pleased with this bin (apart from the fact that it performs its intended function perfectly well) is that I actually understand what a compost bin is and what composting involves. Here are some pointers, in case you are new to this: 1. A compost bin is basically just a pot with a lid on it. If you are going to order this thing and then find yourself shocked when you receive what is basically just a pot with a lid on it in the mail (despite the numerous images on this page that clearly show what is basically a pot with a lid on it), then please just go buy a pot and save yourself the trouble of posting a really stupid review on Amazon that blames the product for the fact that you didn't realize what a compost bin was. 2. Composting involves taking your food scraps that would *otherwise be trash* and keeping them in a bucket (or a pot with a lid on it) in your kitchen. For this reason, it will *get dirty*, just like the rest of the items in your kitchen that come in contact with food. You will often have to *wipe it down* to remove the residue of whatever you put in it, *just like everything else in your kitchen*. Don't let the term "compost bin" fool you into thinking that this product has the magical ability to self-clean. Remember that this is basically just a pot with a lid on it. 3. Here's the thing about food scraps: they break down over time. They even break down a bit over the course of a few days. Another word for this breakdown process is "rotting". THIS IS WHY WE COMPOST THEM. If you leave your compost sitting on your counter for a week at a time, *it will start to smell*. DO NOT BLAME THE BIN - get off your lazy rump and go empty the dang thing. Would you keep your trash for a week if it was full of rotting food? NO. Honestly, a bin that will hold a week's worth of scraps isn't a good thing. A compost bin is not a panacea for all compost-related unpleasantness. If you don't want your food scraps smelling on your countertop, but you also refuse to walk allllll the way to your compost bin more than once a week, then maybe composting isn't for you. Which is fine, just don't leave a three star review on Amazon once you figure that out. - Okay, done snarking. Here's what I like about this bin: *It looks good on the countertop *It has a carrying handle, unlike your average pot with a lid on it *It is well-proportioned - tall enough to hold a good amount of stuff without having a huge footprint on the countertop, but not so tall that it tips over *I've had little to no problem with fruit flies, presumably because I have been careful to only remove the lid when I am putting stuff in the bin *It cleans easily *It is durable and unbreakable Basically, it does everything a compost bin should do, assuming you do not have ridiculous, uninformed, and mutually-incompatible expectations for how it will function.

when laws in Calif changed and we now have to separate our organic garbage from the rest of the trash i didn't know what i would be storing my veggie peels, bones, used paper towels, etc in my kitchen that would be at least somewhat attractive, odor proof and really functional. i didn't want another plastic bin in the house! fortunately my daughter knew several of her friends have the EPICA compost bin and she recommended it to me. wow, it's great. it's sturdy, goes in the dishwasher and comes out sparking clean. there is absolutely NO odor due to the filter. i also ordered additional filters but have not had to change them yet. the pail is not too big or too small and it does sit on my kitchen counter looking shiny and proud. yes, i recommend this too.

So far, so good. My home produces SO MUCH organic refuse from fruits and veggies and since I’m a home grower, it’s time to venture into composting. Much better idea than my plastic bags that sit in the fridge until trash day. This will be a learning process for me. My bin arrived scratched. Not ecstatic about it since it will sit on the kitchen counter but I also don’t want to waste gas and cause emissions for a return/replace. Some better packaging could prevent that. The bin feels solid and the lid seems to fit perfectly. It’s a standard size so bags are easy to find. I’m hoping that this prevents the fruit flies from getting to my scraps and the charcoal pads prevent odor. I’ll be back to update once this baby has spent a solid month of scrap holding in my kitchen if anything changes!

We are extremely happy with this countertop compost bin! It holds a lot of kitchen waste, so we don’t have to empty it every day. It keeps all the smells completely inside the container, even with onion, garlic, and strong scraps, there’s zero odor in the kitchen. Cleaning is super easy too, it rinses out quickly and goes right in the dishwasher. Overall, it’s convenient, effective, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend!

I love this new compost bin. I had one previously that had a plastic liner which eventually would smell. This one is bigger but I don’t have to go outside to dump as often. The design and handle work well together and I love the look on my countertop. Very easy to clean and I believe it will last for many years to come. Filter keeps it so there is no smell.

I rarely write reviews for anything, but this is actually an excellent product. I was looking for a food waste bin for a while, after my old enamel one rusted through. This actually has enough storage space for a family who cooks, rather than lots of bins which would just be full up after one or two meals. It's stainless steel so should last already long time, and is pressed at one piece of metal rather than having a welded joint at the bottom that can fail. It also looks great, and it's just a very simple straightforward design which can't really go wrong

Arrivato errato, ho ordinato accciaio inox ed è arrivato verniciato esterno nero e con una piccola ammaccatura. Avevo deciso di tenerlo comunque ma in questi giorni ho notato che si sta scrostando la vernice sul fondo,dove appoggia,quindi ho deciso di renderlo .

Este producto es una maravilla de muy buena calidad , se ve bonito en la cubierta de mi cocina y no ocupa gran espacio. Se lava muy facil con esponja y jabon. Me permite rapidamente hechar todas los residuos organicos de mi casa .El tapon con su filtro de carbon filtra todos los olores. Es suficientemente grande para varios dias. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.
