Very comprehensive text, but too vague at times
I used this text to study for the Specialist in Hematology exam, and I felt really prepared when I was taking the exam. I basically read this book cover to cover a couple times over. It covers a very wide breadth of knowledge but does not go into a lot of detail for certain topics. I found myself needing to resort to other texts for more depth. That's the only reason I gave it four out of five stars. Also, there were a few minor typos in the book. Overall, it would be great for someone just starting out and studying for the MLT/MLS exam, but it was not always adequate for the more advanced learner--still it's a great reference text to have around.

It's Just Another Over-Price Text Book
I purchased the digital version of this book because the print version was twice the cost, no other reason really; it just seems preposterous to pay $200-$300 (depending on what day or month it's purchased) for a school book, especially to only use once. This book is rather similar to other Hematology books out there--go to any used-book store, and you'll get a better idea of this--and the digital version was no better. The way Kindle organized the pages and images is a bit of a disappointment. For some of the items where the image was the main focus, you can only see ONE image at a time; whereas the physical book has multiple side-by-side images together, making the differentiation far easier to distinguish. For the high cost of a digital version of a book, I don't understand why it was produced that way... and I won't even go into the annoyance of paying a sales tax on a required academic textbook (why is that a thing?).I personally didn't find anything that stood out, making this purchase one I was left very satisfied with, but I also didn't feel motivated enough to read every word, on every page, cover to cover. However, I would not buy this book unless forced to do so by my institution, because, like most things relating to human anatomy and/or physiology, they're pretty much all the same. If given the choice, I would simply look for the most economical option that also offered expansive, well-organized, easy-to-read content that is not older than 5-8 years (I suppose it all depends on the latest medical advancement that has been reported.)Still, I can't wait for the day that American students are not forced to pay an inordinate amount for required academic texts that are only utilized for a short period... especially when it's a subpar digital version.

Kindle Version- Bad Formatting
The formatting of the ebook is not good at all. It makes it difficult to read the tables or charts as well the entire book. I’m going to have to buy the actual book because it’s to late to return the digital copy. DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION!
