Smooth Shifting
My 2016 Mazda 3 shifting was a bit notchy, especially on the shift to 5th from 4th and it was also overdue for a fluid change. From the get go shifting became a lot smoother and I was delighted.

Will not damage brass synchro rings
Recommended for easier shifting and less synchro ring degradation by British car owners.

Perfect for Fiat 500 requiring GL4 manual transmission fluid
Perfect for Fiat 500 requiring GL4 manual transmission fluid. Shifts are slick and feel just like it did with the OEM fluid. AND it's cheaper than fluid sourced from the dealer!I've been using Redline MTL or MT90 in all GL4-required manual transmissions for a long time and this stuff always feels great and lasts a long time.

Noticeably less gear wear visible with Red Line gear oil.
Noticeably less gear wear with RedLine gear oil. You can tell by the color of the fluid that is drained. I had 50K on my fluid change from a VW 6 speed and it was still a slightly grayish pink color, like the original. I didn't expect that color. VW OEM fluid is not synthetic and I changed to Red Line at about 15-20K and as expected the original fluid was quite dark and dirty. I have mixed MTL w/ MT-LV 1/3 MTL to 2/3 MT-LV for summer use. Don't notice any notchy shifts. Try it yourself.

One of the best chemicals I have ever bought for a car!
This product is nothing short of awesome! I have been a sports car enthusiast for 30 years, and in that time I have owned many performance cars, as well as working in the automotive field for 20 years. I used to live by the rule that their is no chemical fix for a mechanical problem, but this gear oil did do just that in my situation. I purchased a 2007 Civic Si a little over a year ago, just to have something a little sporty to drive around town, and also be reliable (Honda ;) ). I learned that the third gear synchronizer in these cars were notorious for problems, and there was even a service bulletin issued by Honda that recommended replacing the synchronizer in the transmission, which calls for around 12 hours of labor. I have always ran synthetic oil in my vehicles, and after researching gear oil I came across Red Line, and also read some reviews by other Si owners stating this product solved their 3rd gear problems. Well, I gave it a shot, and yes it did fix this specific issue! This is also the first time I have used synthetic gear oil in a transmission before, and I can say that it is nothing short of amazing in the difference when it comes to shifting between all of the gears! Other than the 3rd gear issue in the Honda 6 speed I had no problems before changing the fluid, and their was only a little resistance to speak of when shifting gears. After the change, there is almost no resistance at all! Smooth as silk when shifting gears now. I would highly recommend Red Line to any car enthusiast, and though it did resolve my synchronizer issues as I said, this product is not a miracle fix for all transmission problems. I will be replacing the manual transmission fluid in my 525 horsepower muscle car to Red Line next.

Cheaper than XT-M5-QS
Pros:- Price per quart is significantly cheaper than Motorcraft XT-M5-QS- Good quality fluid that shifts smoothly once up to operating temperatureCons:- Cold lubrication is not all that good. Gears feel “crunchy” and hard to shift when fluid is still cold, not at all comparable to the performance of the Motorcraft equivalent in cold conditionsOverall, good value for the few times you need to change your transmission fluid. Shifts well and keeps the transmission nice and quiet. Cold lubrication still leaves a lot on the table but is still much better than other cheap brands of gear oil that often do not shift well even at operating temperature. This particular fluid helped with my “crunchy” 6th gear shift in my NC Miata even though it can be hard to shift when still cold. Worth the price, though I will probably give the Motorcraft fluid a try next time to see if it’s worth the extravagant price.

It's RedLine MTL ... it's exactly what you expect.
A great oil, at a massively overpriced price point.
