Works
We started with the kindergarten ones and moved to the first grade this year. They seem simple but for some reason my daughter wants to read them every night (not forced) and it’s definitely helping her remember sight words and confidence in reading.

Good, but short
They are a nice supplement to the 1-5 set. However with them being for the first grade level, they are very short. The advertisement says they are 12 pages long, but there’s only 9 pages of story (they start on page 3 and page 12 says ‘the end’).

Quality is fine but these are literally TINY books
These books are great, I’ve used them for both my children while learning to read and highly recommend them. HOWEVER... this particular set (I’ve bought many throughout the years) came in miniature size. I didn’t even know that was an option or I would’ve looked at the measurements. Kind of annoying when you have littles used to a normal size book and then have to hold onto these tiny books. The seller need a banana for scale in the pics if they’re going to be pulling that. Just a FYI.

Highly Recommend
My son is currently in 1st grade and is a struggling reader. He has read some books that are geared for 1st grade and are too difficult for him. These are perfect books. Each page has about 5-7 words and the books are short in length. It gives him confidence that he can complete the book and not be frustrated. I would say that he is only reading at a kindergarten level, I am not sure that the "average" 1st grader would benefit from these. They have been a blessing in our house though and we read 4-5 books per day.

Repetition, repetition, repetition!
How does your kid learn how to recognize sight words?? They see them over and over again. And when they appear many times in what your child is reading, they start to stick! My son struggles with reading and the repetition found in Bob Books work wonders for him and his ability to instantly recognize sight words. The flash cards included also work great as a warm-up activity before reading. We also use the kindergarten sight words set as well. It's not a complete set of CVC sight words, but it's a good start and helps to build reading confidence.

I Love Bob Books
My granddaughter was in a Spanish emersion school and they did not teach her to read English. She will be going to a new school (if they ever open again!) We have completed the K books and are on our way with beginning the Grade 1 books. She will be going into second grade and I hope I am helping a little. Fun stories, pictures and even flash cards.

Bob Books: Sight Words First Grade
I bought this for my 7yrs old daughter, who is in 1st grade. I also bought BOB Books Sight Words Kindergarten and BOB Books Set 4: Complex Words for my (almost) 5yrs old daughter. We do not homeschool but, were looking for education supplements. It has 10 books, 30 Flash Cards and a Teaching Guide.Size is good for little hands to hold.Edited to add: My 7yrs old daughter had no difficulty reading the books. It didn't challenge her but, will still continue with the set.

Best for learning to read
My 6 yr old son went from no reading skills at all, to reading fluently in 2 months with these books. He likes them. The full system with the different boxes of books plus the workbook is amazing. Highly recommend. We use them for homeschooling grade 1.

Great
Bob books are great. I used them with my son (jk) during the lockdown and it was very easy gradual learning. I tried other like little readers but the bob books are far better.

Love the Bob Books
Love the Bob Books. They may not be the best early readers but as long as you stick with one thing from start to finish...as well, I purchased a few levels at a time, some more challenging than the next to enable my daughter to gain confidence with the more simple one and then gradually increasing in difficulty. She reads like a champ and is only in JK.
