Perfect replacement, great colour with great power but with a very slight delay in turning on
Bought this bulb to replace our old style CFL bulb in the bathroom. Didn't particularly have a problem with CFL ones as they're relatively efficient already (replacing a 28W bulb with a 14W bulb) and realistically the greater cost of this LED bulb will not outweigh the small power saving. I bought it because in my experience, CFL bulbs have a habit of being great for the first few months and then they start taking a few minutes to get to max brightness before finally dying. Their total lifespan from first being placed, to fully dying and needing to be replaced would usually be about 12 months. I'm hoping this Hizashi LED bulb lasts a little longer than 12 months, and that it doesn't begin to lose brightness after the first few months like old CFL bulbs. For someone who could not be further from an electrician, it took a good hour or so to fit it. Instructions could be written better for the "general public", but with enough Googling it's pretty simple to work out what you need to do. Our bathroom has a fitting that's 30+ years old which made it a little more difficult to remove the old ballast, but I assume for most houses it should be as easy if not much easier, especially if you have any experience with wiring.Light itself is very bright, brighter than the brand new 28W bulbs we were using before. The temperature of the light is perfect for our bathroom, makes it looks much nicer than old more yellow bulbs, but it is far far far from being an overly blue/white like you're in a hospital. Only thing that isn't "perfect" is that there is a slight (half a second max) delay in turning on the light, but once it turns on it is full power straight away. This isn't an 'issue' as such, as the light is on before your hand can even get off the pull cord, but worth mentioning in case it's the kind of thing that might annoy someone. This could very well be due to the wiring in our house, so may not be the case for everyone.Overall, after 2 months of having it, very happy, hope it lasts!

Twice as bright, half the power used with fluorescent tubes
The instructions are a bit cryptic; but as long as you know that in the UK, Red or brown wires are Hot and black or blue wires are neutral, you'll be able to switch this LED in place of a flourescent bulb. My fixture didn't have a starter, but it had a ballast that had a yellow lead going in, which is Ground/Earth, a brown lead in and a blue lead in. The house is wired with yellow, red and black.I disconnected the screws for the three inputs to the ballast and I cut the four outputs, which were two blue and two brown wires that went to the four pin socket. I taped these to the ballast to get them out of the way and left it installed in case anyone ever wants to convert it back to flourescent tubes. I then stripped the socket leads of 1/4" of insulation and attached them to the house wiring with the screw posts that were already there. The light works perfectly and it is twice as bright, but only draws 14 watts while the old flourescent tube drew 28 watts. The three photos are Before and After. It is really easy to install this LED bulb.

Ideal if your ballast has failed.
I have 2D light fittings on each corner of my house. I feel like I'm constantly replacing lamps or the light fittings themselves after ballasts failing.I came across this while searching for a replacement fitting so thought id give it a go as its less hassle than replacing the whole fitting ( and a similar price). I removed the old lamp and the starter and plugged this in. It not quite as straightforward if you have a high frequency ballast without a starter but its still not a big job.It worked fine and is slightly brighter than the equivalent fluorescent if it last as long as it claims to I'll be very happy.

Much brighter than the old CFL tube
Very pleased with the quality. Much brighter than the old CFL tube.If replacing a fluorescent then you need to bypass the ballast. It was a simple job and several examples were available on YouTube and also the instructions.Highly recommend this seller.

Great buy at a very good price!
What a great product! Works very well and super bright. Seller was a great help with how to get it working 100% as I had to remove a part off my old light housing, but that was easily done with the help from the seller.

Fits, quick simple lamp rewire, and it still working with no problems.
It all came nicely packaged with some basic instructions. The diagrams are not the easiest to follow, but for a basic CFL tube setup, you just miss out the transformer/ballast and wire directly to the light mains. Easy in mine.It basically bright as before, maybe brighter.Still working well after a month or so.
