Work well for my GK 250ML guitar amp!
These speakers reproduce both higher and lower frequencies than the Gallien-Krueger OEM speakers, (also made by Pyle). The new speakers are also lighter than OEM, so the amp, which takes two speakers, is easier to carry.I broke the speakers in for a while, (3hrs), which extended the bass and treble a bit. I am sure the sound will improve over time as the cones, spiders and surrounds improve in flexibility over time.I used the amp at a gig for the first time in years, and was very pleased. I was using the speakers as a personal stage monitor, and sent a line out to the PA system. I could get a big amp sound out of my little toaster-sized amp with these speakers + the PA, with the kind of big amp cranked up kind of sustain from these speakers feeding into the guitar strings. If I remember to, I'll report back after the speakers have broken in for a while.Look at it this way: you get two brand new, more modern-sounding speakers for a little more than the cost of a re-foam kit. Woo-hoo!Update 10/11/12: I have been using the speakers regularly with this amp for a while now, and the sound has opened up-a lot. the treble is a bit more extended, and the lows a bit more relaxed sounding. The last time I played bass, I plugged my six-string Jazz Bass copy into it- it sounded good. Once I plugged my 3-band parametric EQ into the effects loop, I was astounded that these speakers (and the amp) could put out such a nice bass sound. there was not a lot of extreme low end, but my bass sounded like a bass, even on the low B string. Once I plugged into the PA system and let the subwoofer take care of the low bass, I had a perfect stage monitor: plenty loud for me to hear, without flooding the stage and room with muddy sounding mush. Color me very happy with these speakers!Update 10/17/14: These speakers are still performing like champs. Even though I continue to use the amp as my main stage amp for both bass and guitar, the speakers continue to amaze me.Update 10/5/16 Still going strong... Need... More.... Stars...Outstanding value!

Fantastic Sound if not pushed
I used this Pyle-Pro Mid-Bass Woofer to replace a blown woofer on a JBL N30 speaker. The woofer it replaced did function, and could still take a lot of power, but would make a scratching noise with certain bass notes, which looking it up seems to either indicate a blown coil or something small getting into the coil. In the meantime until I can try to fix it if possible, I ordered this Mid-Bass Woofer, and I've gotta say, the sound is really nice. You cannot really tell a difference between the original and this replacement, except for one teeny little aspect: these can't take a lot of power.I could tell right off the bat, and comparing this to a woofer that would cost 4x as much isn't exactly a fair comparison, but the magnet on the JBL was far heavier and more than double in size compared to this woofer's magnet. However, the speaker can still take a lot of power, more than I need to give it, so in my opinion it's a total win. I use the speakers mostly for home-theater listening, and this performed very well. The only other issue is it takes certain frequencies better than others, so that means some frequencies will be played louder than others (this is common on many woofers however, most people won't even notice unless you play test-tones). Just you know, letting people know that obviously this isn't going to somehow compare to a Focal woofer or something. So, for the price, you get a nice responsive and fairly accurate Mid-Bass woofer, no muddiness or "wompiness" as I like to call it, you just can't expect to push it to fill a large living room. Everyone else will be more than satisfied with the woofer's performance, so for the price I'm more than pleased.

Play the speakers for a few days in your car on factory stereo and they come to life
I did not like the fact that it didn't come with speaker wires but that was no big issue what I really didn't like it was the fact that it's advertising with two speakers in the picture but does not come in pairs, so I had to order another one. If you choose to get these speakers make sure that you do NOT use a amplifier but use the factory car stereo so that you won't blow the speakers and they will sound great for it's value. I'm going to give it a five stars because of the quality of sound and that I knew better to use these on a amplifier. If I didn't know any better, then I would had gave these speakers two stars for blown speakers.

Pyle of Crap
I bought it to replace a damaged woofer in a pair of bookshelf speakers. It arrived quickly, and was exactly as described, and installed no problem. It actually worked and sounded great....for a few months. Then, all of a sudden, it started sounding a little far away and tinny. Then it got worse. And worse. Now it is completely dead. What a disappointment.I was not pushing this speaker hard, either. I had it in a pair of bookshelf speakers hooked up to a receiver in my basement, which is 40W per channel. This speaker is rated as 125W, peak power of 250W. No way i was even close to that. It was just junky and broke. The original woofer in the other bookshelf speaker, which is older and rated for less power, is still fine, by the way.

Great replacement speakers
I used these to replace some Infinity RS-325 woofers that the surrounds had rotted away. While I try to refoam these I wanted some woofers for the interim period. While I. Still going to refoam the original woofers these sound so good that I am not sure I will reinstall the originals. I guess it will come down to sound quality or originals once I fix theme. The bass is good for thir size and then crossover well will the original tweeters. For the price they are great for DIY replace or new build IMO.
