Still had to drill my own holes, but learn from my mistake
I have a 30" arched doorway in my master bedroom that I needed to enclose to the master bathroom. Since it was so narrow I didn't want to put a door there, and it would had to have been custom made. I decided to do a barn door to cut down on the noise my wife makes getting ready in the morning. I built the door and needed hardware to hang it. The big box home improvement stores sell kits for $150+. There is absolutely no reason to spend the money on those, when this is half the price and functions exactly the same. Due to the stud location on the wall, I was not able to hit studs where the factory holes were. It would have pushed the bar too far down and wouldn't have been able to open the door the whole way. Here is where I made my mistake. I decided to drill new holes to line up with my studs and it worked fine. I have extra holes, but nobody has noticed them so it's not a huge deal. An even better way to do it, is to use a 1x backer for the bar to mount to. You can go to your local home improvement and pick up a piece of 1x6 (or any width you want). You mount the 1x backer to your wall and attach it to studs. Since the 1x is on the wall, you can mount the bar to that instead. 1x will have the strength to support your door easily since it's mounted to studs (I would use 3" high quality exterior screws two per stud.) I do plan to take mine down and do something similar so it matches the trim in my room. I like the hardware because it's very quiet, very heavy duty, and significantly cheaper than anywhere else. I did not use the guide for the door because I didn't want to drill in my new wood floors. I ended up buying a barn door wheel and having it modified to work for me. The guide would probably work great if you can use it. Just keep in mind you will need to run your door down the table saw to get a groove in it for the guide. It's actually pretty easy to do.

Would recommend but for one small important piece
The hardware is heavy and sturdy. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5, is the ONE piece that's made of plastic - and it's one that should be metal - is the guide on the bottom of the door so it won't swing outward. It's PLASTIC and broke immediately upon installation. Had to fashion something else, what a pain!! It's the piece that would be used with every opening and closing of the door! So I ask the manufacturer, why did you cheap out on a key piece, when everything else is solid metal? The installation is not quick but the directions are somewhat easy to follow. The price is very reasonable for what you get. It was shipped quickly and well packaged.

Solid!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great solid piece of hardware, and a way better deal than you find at the big home stores. Pay attention to how you install the spacers for the rail, I installed mine backwards and had to flip them around as the wheels will hit the flange. I actually kept the spacers on the far left and right mounting screws backwards as it makes a little cradle between the stopper and the last bolt that holds the door in the open and closed positions and prevents any "creeping" (see video).

Will definitely buy again if I need another set!
I am always worried when I buy a product whoes regular price is less than one third of the comparable products go for. This barn door hardware by SMARTSTANDARD blew me away.I’ve been searched over amazon for a compatible sliding barn door kit for a while, most of the feedbacks are complaining about the terrible direction with just a few pictures but without any text. It shocks me that this kit has a super great direction which includes all information that I need, and I’m pretty sure that even a ten year old boy or a home lady like me could assemble it easily. This kit is perfect. The components are all very well made by high materials and the kit contains everything needed for the installation. It works quite well with smooth operation of the barn door. Rail and hardware heavy duty.In the end, I decide to give five stars for the seller and their products and I am very pleased and would definitely buy again if I need another set!

Well made, easy to install, looks great!
I purchased the 8 FT kit plus the set for an extra door. Got two standard doors at Home Depot, and painted them. It looks awesome. My wife loves it, and that's really all that matters. The set is made of good quality. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. There is an error in the instructions: the wood screws need a 5/16 hole only and the door needs a 3/8 hole, they are mixed up. Just take a look before drilling.I installed these in a wall that did not follow the standard rule of one wood stud every 16" so I had to use a stud finder, mark them, and then drilled new holes in the rail, which was not a problem. It took a couple hours to compete the whole project, and I spent probably under $300 including the doors and paint. We are really happy with it and would recommend it.

Brackets are not the same size!!!!! :(
This is the SECOND Kit we ordered. The first kit was fine and the install of our first barn door was seamless. The second barn door was when the disaster began. My husband already knowing what he was doing and pretty much a pro considering he just hung a barn door in our master bedroom this second install should be a breeze! NOT!!He measured everything out perfectly for the placement on the wall, drilled the necessary holes on the door and being confident in the product due to the the first installation he thought this would be a slam dunk! HA!Door was up, the door would not hang properly. He kept taking the door off, putting it back it back on, taking it off, putting it back on. Finally realizing the problem was the TWO ROLLER BRACKETS WERE NOT A MATCH. They are approximately an 1” off from one another. (See Pictures) In order to hang the door he had to drill new holes and the brackets are offset and it looks absolutely horrible.Keep in mind this door is in a high traffic area, right off my kitchen where all our guests congregate. It is not inconspicuous and is quite embarrassing!WHERE IS QUALITY CONTROL?WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CUSTOM BUILT BARN DOOR, SERIOUSLY IT BELONGS IN AN OLD BARN AND NOT IN MY HOME. TOTAL TRASH!
