This reel exceeded my expectations by a ton and for a few reasons1.for its size it holds a lot of braid and I mean a lot I put almost 300 yards of 50# braid plenty to get over the first 2 sandbars2. The smoothness was insane I had to look down just to make sure it was reeling in and not just a free spinning handle3 the size of the handle was perfect for the huge hands I have was worried since it was only a 6000 that it’d be small like a bass reel nope not at all4 ive got to touch back on smoothness of the reel in and a little on the power of this thing .I’ve caught gar fought them and destroyed reels but these had 0 issue basically yanking it out of the water and that’s with my tiny 7 yo doing the fishing without assistance from meHell of a first fish and one hell of a reel looking forward to doing a lot more serious fishing with these and quite possibly buying more

The media could not be loaded. Hello from Fiji 🇫🇯Got this reel a few months ago together with a beginner's rod. The idea was to get into fishing. This reel holds up pretty good and even handles heavy fish. The fish here in the pacific have their own kick and agility, this reels keeps up pretty good. The system isnt sealed and its always good to spray on some reel lube before and after use. He's a video of a Mangrove Jack I caught recently using the Megatron.

I am a saltwater fisherman on a budget so I cannot afford some of the $250 reals that everyone raves about. All that said, I own this reel as well as a KastKing Royal Legend Pro Baitcaster. Both are amazing reels. Keep them rinsed off and lubed and you will not be disappointed.

Great reel for the money! I own five of them and use them primarily in the salt water I have to 4000 series and three 3,000 series reels have had no issues with any of them yet

Good quality. Fun to use. Cast smoothly. Good value. Balanced with the correct rod.

Best reel for the right price

THE PRO's. I picked up the reel about 4 months ago. Out of the box, it looks awesome. The 3000 is a smaller size reel with a deep spool. I liked that it was compact and paired nicely with the KastKing Perigee II 7ft MH rod. Performed well, I liked the metal body and it felt strong when reeling in 5-10 lb sheepheads and sea trout that I caught on it.THE CONS. The reel started hesitating after a hour or so of fishing in saltwater with multiple retrieves and fish. After a freshwater rinse it would seem to get better but, each time out after the first hour or so it started sticking again. The saltwater must be entering from under the spool getting the spray. I've never submerged the reel and rinsed it with fresh water after using. I had a similar issue with the valiant eagle reel from kast king.Also, I began noticing the finish peeling/flaking off which I assume is another issue with the saltwater and the metal body.Overall, great reel. Super strong, great drag and very smooth when it's working properly. BUT!! It's not Saltwater ready. Look for a reel that is SEALED. Kast King offers the Spartacus 2 in a sealed version and the sharky 3 with a water resistant channeling feature called KISS. I may try one of those. For now I got a deal on a penn combo to replace the megatron. While not the smoothest they seem to hold up better to the saltwater.
