Good grief, Schulz is still going strong in the 80s
If you thought Peanuts had hit its peak in the mid 60s, or perhaps the early 70s ("Mr. Sack," anyone?), you might be tempted to ignore this latest installment of the strip's oeuvre. Don't.Schulz is in fine form here; the familiar characters, long since settled into their now-standard roles, are starting to experiment more (would you believe Schroeder actually kisses Lucy?), and Snoopy is nearly upstaged by his desert-dwelling brother, Spike, while debuting a new persona as a bumbling, cliché-spouting attorney. Newer characters, such as Rerun, Eudora, and other members of Snoopy's family, assert their presence, and some obscure ones from older strips (such as Molly Volley) reappear, while the Little Red-Haired Girl fades into the background. And poor Peppermint Patty rivals Charlie Brown in the failure department, with a string of D-minuses nearly as long as Charlie Brown's dropped outfield catches, strikeouts at the plate, and kite-related mayhem. As usual, Fantagraphics' presentation of the strip is excellent; the only complaint is that the Sunday strips aren't in color, but this may be because they're working with Schulz's original drawings (which weren't colored by him) whenever possible. Also, adding color plates just for Sundays would probably add considerably to the cost; perhaps a Sunday-only color edition is in the works when the main series is completed in 2016.

A FAVORITE PERIOD IN THE PEANUTS HISTORY
Great edition. It arrives in perfect condition and very fast - considering I live quite far from everywhere - .This collection is a personal favorite, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986. The design of the charaters is in a high point and the plots are depth and funny.

Hasn’t arrived
I love these books but I ordered this one a month and a half ago and it has yet to arrive. The book is stuck somewhere with no way to track it or be refunded.

A trip down memory lane.
I used to collect paperback versions of Peanuts books as a kid. I mainly had pocket sized ones that contained strips from the bigger sized books. The bigger sized books were hard to find. Buying these complete Peanuts books fills all the voids left by the countless numbers of books you would have had to have owned in the past. Rereading all of these strips still makes me laugh out loud. I dont read comics in the paper anymore because there is nothing close to as good as Peanuts. The only thin that was close was Calvin and Hobbes. Which is sadly gone from the daily strips too.

Possibly the greatest comics ever
I have love the Peanuts gang since I was barely able to read and although I am now about 45 years older, they still haven't lost any of their magic and humor for me.I was delighted when I first discovered this amazing reïssue of all the comics by Fantagraphics and have so far purchased every issue from Amazon. They have given me hours and hours of pleasure and because the characters are so universal, they will still appeal to any contemporary audience young and old.The comics are issued in beautiful hardcover books in a solid slipcase. At this price I would call that a real bargain.

Peanuts 1983-1986
All the people in Peanuts like Charlie Brown Lucy Linus Sally Marcie Peppermint Patty and the rest are good. I loved this comic strip when I was a kid so trust me theese are very good books. A few of the good stories involve Snoopy and Peppermint Patty getting tested for narcolepsy Sally becoming worried about Santa Claus\ health after she sees a picture of him and Linus trying to give up his Security blanket. Theese are just some of the good stories in here. You should get it.

Great collection
As I said in other collection reviews these are great for the series student of Peanuts but very expensive if you are a casual reader and some of the collection is currently out of print.

A really nice present
A perfect present for a Peanuts lover. Lovely quality paper and really heavy! Nice box holds the two books. I believe it is an American product unlike the childish one they sell here, so if it's for an adult make sure it is the Fantagraph one.

A must for all peanut fans
The early eighties were when I read Peanuts regularly. Its great to have all the strips reprinted in one book. This entire series of books is worth buying, but this volume brings back especially fond memories for me.
