Soft Start Technology and why you might want an inverter that has that circuitry included
(See update below Jan 10, 2023 and new update Oct 10, 2023 and new update Nov.22,2023) Nov. 22, 2023 I am so pleased with Giandel 2000w inverter that I purchased a second Giandel pure sine wave inverter for another project. The 2000w inverter continues to work flawlessly. Customer service (Eric) was spectacular....I would rate customer service 6 stars on a 1-5 star scale. I consider the value of a product is based on the product itself AND the customer service department of the company that makes and services the product. Oct 10, 2023 I would still purchase this inverter without any hesitation. It has worked absolutely faultlessly over the last almost 1 year. It can start my refrigerator AND water pump simultaneously without a single problem because of the soft start circuitry. This occurs at least every 2 weeks because of roaming blackouts.....in 3rd world electrical grinds like in the USA and other countries. I use this unit only to to support my refrigerator/freeze and water pump. I am constructing a second battery backup system for other stuff. My system has automatic backup (AC to DC) with Xantrex single circuit automatic transfer switch, available here on Amazon and LVD (low voltage disconnect) with Blue Seas m-LVD. Cons: 1. I am disappointed in the battery cables supplied................They are aluminum with copper coating..................I purchased 100% pure copper tinned Marine Grade cables to replace those with the unit. 2. The remote switch is a pain to install in a panel...........cutting a rectangle...............I just don't understand why the manufacturers don't design a device with a 54mm hole saw cut out??? Is that simply to torture the DIY person like me, who buy their products.....ha, ha, ha ..........a joke? CB The Giandel 2000w pure sine wave inverter started and ran our 10-year-old (old technology…no inverter compressor…Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, Haier) 26 cu ft side-by-side refrigerator/freezer on first start up for 8 hours without a hiccup…. thanks to the soft start circuitry in the Giandel inverter. If you search the reviews and customer Q & A sections you will find many 2000w pure sine wave inverters WILL NOT start a Full-Sized refrigerator despite reporting a “Peak Power Rating of 4000 watts, including the Renogy 2000 w pure sine wave inverter, the best-selling inverter on Amazon. Other brands may run a mini-frig, RV sized refrigerator or off-grid designed refrigerators but few document typical on grid based full sized refrigerator/freezers operation. I bought this inverter for running our refrigerator/freezer/washer-dryer/etc. in the event of a power grid failure. Several of our devices have an extremely high peak starting power requirement and this unit serves the purpose, with its soft start technology without having to purchase a 4000-6000watt pure sine wave inverter. To my knowledge Renogy does not have Soft Start circuitry in their inverters. (Update Jan 10, 2023) We have had multiple problems with the grid. Since the above review we have had 3 prolonged periods of no grid...6, 7 and 8.5 hours. The inverter has performed flawlessly on each occasion powering our full size old technology 26 cu ft side by side freezer/re-frig. with multiple startups, defrost cycles, etc. The fans never turned on and the device was only mildly warm to the touch. Never an alert and always the voltage remained 120-123 volt and 60 Hz. Suggestion to Giandel: 1. Get rid of the triangle security screws…. In order to change the in-board fuses, if needed, you will need a TA30 driver bit (for example Amazon ASIN: B0BBP1X4W8) 2. Allow the ability to have customer set the Low Voltage Battery Disconnect point. I believe the current unchangeable default in 9.6 volts which is way too low for my system. 3. Provide red and black silicon inverter terminal cap covers to reduce the risk of metal objects coming in contact with the terminals 4. Provide at least 3-foot length inverter cables. The cables that came with the unit are at least 1 foot to short for my installation.

Superb Customer Service
I am reviewing this product because of customer service. I have a folding 130W solar panel, 50AH/12V lithium ion battery and a charge controller (1st photo). I charge the battery during the day and "dump" the electricity into a EGO Nexus Power Station which has 3 outlets. Those batteries run my lawnmower, string trimmer, leaf blower, chainsaw, hedge trimmer and leaf blower. When those aren't drained I run the TV and PS4 for most of the day and on rare occasions of grid power failure. This is more for experimentation with off grid solar (we're on our 3rd house with a solar system). One day I had a full battery and hooked up the + cable to the - post and the instant I touched the - cable to the + post there was a large spark and melted the metal (2nd photo). After that the inverter didn't work. I emailed to see if I could fix it at home (the warranty was done because of my moronic error) like maybe fuses or something. Giandel customer service person, Elsa (that made my 4 year old daughter happy), emailed to tell me it did have fuses, what kind, a link to Amazon for ordering and instructions (there was an error in the instructions but I figured it out eventually) on how to replace. All 4 fuses were blown, I replaced them and it is once again working perfectly. It works per specifications. I am going to try to make the connections "idiot proof" by making the + cable and pole connections 1/2 inch and the - cable connector and pole some other dimension. The battery poles are just coarse thread bolts (see 2nd photo again). I haven't figured it out yet but I'll come up with something. This review is for the best customer service I've had with a company, maybe ever. Even though I made the mistake she said "And I will wait for the test result after you replace the fuses. If there is still a problem, please contact us again, we will provide you the warranty service, so please don't worry." Not sure what else to say but a great big thank you because it seems the last few companies I've had to call for customer service makes me feel like I'm going to the dentist (no offense to dentists just not normally my favorite thing to do). Maybe I should floss more.

Outstanding customer service !
If I could give Giandel a 6 star review I would. I bought one of these 3000w inverters and it ran well for about 2 weeks, then quit. Amazon sent me a replacement. Installed this new one, turned on the microwave,it ran for 2 seconds then the inverter went into permanent overload. I connected an extension cord from a GFI outlet in the house and connected it to the power line running from inverter to the electrical panel in my RV. Turned on the microwave, ran for 2 seconds, then the GFI tripped. I figured I had a short in the power cord or the Automatic Transfer Switch behind the electrical panel. Dug out the ATS, opened it up and saw a number of burnt wires. It was 19 years old and had been used with an onboard generator, now discarded. I replaced the ATS and ran a new 8/3 power cord from the panel to the inverter. I contacted Giandel and asked if they had repair facilities that I could ship the inverter to and get it repaired at my cost. They answered right away, had me take a video of the OL alarm on the lcd, I included pictures of my installation and the wiring, they said they would look into it. 3 days later I got an email with a tracking number. They sent me another new 3000W inverter, no hassles, no haggling! I double checked the shore power lines and the new inverter line, all appliances worked well, verified with an in-line amp/watt meter. When the new inverter arrived, I installed it, held my breath and turned it on. It is working just like it should ! It ran my microwave, my A/C, ( not at the same time, I am still gunshy), the coffee pot, even a 1500 W electric heater without a problem. Hopefully, I have it all sorted out and with the great customer service from Elsa at Giandel I will enjoy my truck camper out in the boondocks.

Great product and has the power to run our stuff in the RV!
It works when we need it. Installation was straightforward, and I love the display. Make sure your batteries' BMS will allow the amps you are needing to run your stuff. We run both of our Coleman ACs from this unit and they draw about 3000 watts according to the readout. We added a transfer switch, now having two so switchover works seamlessly. I do wish the output wires would accommodate a larger lug. It seems like a weak point on all inverters so we had to get a special end with prongs to get the 6 ga wire to onto the output screws.

Order placed December 10, 2020
See my update at the bottom, been in service now for a week and best i can tell with out a scope is my digital clock is keeping time this alone tells me the power is clean some inverts will make the time run slow and loose up to a hour or more a day. Power demands are working just fine and the voltage is 121 and holds there pretty well. Voltage Max verified 16 volts is the shut off for this inverter and 15.9 is ok to run. Why would i wont this voltage? Lithium-Ion 18650 cells. Yes finally an inverter that can handle 95% of the voltage that a 4S pack can have. Ive near doubled the capacity being able to almost fully charge the batteries and not fully charging means the cells will have a longer life only charging to 95% of max charge is fine with me. Most normal inverters will only allow up to 15.2 volts and they shut down for over voltage ive got one as a spare that shuts down at 15 volts which is totally useless for lithium-ion 4S. My set up for voltage range is: 13 volts automatic fall back charge starts for low sun days 1000 watts in solar with a not so conventional 20 amp buck converter CC-CV this must have a fan and more heat sink to run at 22 amp constant MAX or it will fail by over heating and exploding the caps on the board the inductor get incredibly HOT or one of the mosfets over heats and fails ive also had one of the traces on the board to a mosfet burn out and had to fix it and replace the mosfet. Folks ive burnt up over 10 of these to learn what works and what dont! Now ive had 2 of these working fine for the last several months one for fall back charge and one for solar charge. 15.9 volts is the high voltage stop point which is much better than my old inverter at 15.2 volts shut down. Update 11-18-2025: Still going and no problems 16 volts is the shut off 15.9 volts is fine no complaints. Still running on the same set of batteries well. This inverter runs 24/7 to keep the lights on and ive even worked up a way for my home to be Hybrid a 60 amp charger keeps the batteries up when the lights go out ive got about 14 hours of use for all the lights, electronics and fridge basically anything that is 110 VAC. Washers tend to use pleanty of power so i try to avoid using that. The first one did fail rather quick the replacement has been perfect.

Buyer beware - Product broke as soon as the warranty was up
This product lasted till exactly when the warranty ended and no longer. I would like to add it was used very lightly for solar water system and only used to power our water pressure system. Shortly after the warranty expired it stopped outputting power. Would have to leave the unit on for hours before power would start outputting sporadically. Eventually it just stopped all together. The ‘asurion’ insurance through Amazon is a scam. I paid for insurance and been trying to file a claim for months now- every time I get to the last step to get a shipping label- says “sorry something went wrong’ I’ve contacted support and they tell me to ‘keep trying’ well it’s been months now and at this point my paid insurance is about to expire. Just as they wanted. I’ve had this same issue with asurion in the past- I should have known better. I trusted Amazon though. But Amazon literally won’t help me at all. I contacted manufacturer but of course they are a Chinese company and speak broken en English and the only resolution they offered is to buy a “second hand unit” with a 12 month warranty- for 500$. Yeah not going to fall into that trap… just so I can spend more money in 12 months when it breaks? Buyer beware. I got scammed so you don’t have to. Buy a more quality product instead of cheaply made Chinese garbage.

Very good build quality and very powerful.
I was very pleased with how well built the inverter appeared when unboxing. It has heavy duty lugs on the back panel to connect your dc input power and heavy duty lugs on the front panel to connect your ac power out. The auxiliary display is good to have also and looks exactly like the display on the front of the inverter. When the internal cooling fan turns on, which isn't that often, you hear it but it's not very loud and only runs for a short while. I'm sure it depends on the load that's being run. This unit doe's not bog down when large loads such as the microwave or air conditioner are turned on. it's as if you are running off the power grid. I've had other inverters from a different manufacturer with close to the same power ratings that could barely run the microwave especially on power up. I am very happy with this inverter and look forward to a long service life with it. Check out my video. A.DiChello

Amazing customer support ! Make sure to size your inverter properly !
I originally bought the 1200W inverter to power appliances in my van. It worked pretty well over a few months while using the van. However while using the microwave (rated for 1000W) sometimes the inverter would cut off. This would typically happen when it was warmer outside. I guess the inverter was somewhat at the limit and the temperature would push it over. Interestingly enough it would always run my InstantPot DUO (also rated for 1000W). When back from my trip I reached out to Amazon which referred me to Giandel since the return window was over. While talking to Giandel they recommended to get the 2200W inverter for a 1000W microwave. Apparently microwaves even if rated for 1000W can pull much more at least during the startup. I offered to pay the difference for the new inverter and return the original one. Giandel support agreed and they sent me a new 2200W inverter. They also sent me a return shipping label for the original inverter. I thought this was extremely generous from their side. I installed the new 2200W inverter in the van and the inverter runs the microwave fine without cutting out. We'll see how this fares over time and in warmer climates. Another thing to consider is that the 2200W inverter has a higher standby current (I noticed between 0.8A-2.0A). The 1200W inverter standby current observed was about 0.3A. This was another reason I originally chose the 1200W inverter. When running the actual loads however the 2200W inverter seems to be more efficient and it pulls less amps from the battery (e.g. the microwave was pulling ~115A with the 1200W inverter but it only pulls ~105A with the 2200W one). So there you have it. Make sure you size your inverter properly. A big shout to Elsa and to Giandel for the amazing customer support !
