He's 5 and the majority of these activities would be best done by kids in elementary school
My son loves "Iggy Peck, Architect", so I got him this book. He's always telling me that he wants to be an architect when he grows up, and likes to build towers and castles out of legos. Unfortunately, this book is a little too old for him. He's 5 and the majority of these activities would be best done by kids in elementary school. For example, there is a ton of drawing. "Design some windows for this building", or "Plan out a bridge". I will hold onto this book for him when he's a little older, but it's a great idea. Great for kids that like to draw!

Great addition to the Iggy Peck book
Purchased for my grandchildren who have the related book. I think it has good ideas that reinforce what the main book is about. Excellent series for getting kids interested in STEM and boost confidence in curiosity. This project book is pretty focused on drawing what the child thinks about, not activities that require a lot of pieces / parts.

Great book, do not buy from this seller.
Really neat book. I really wanted to give it to my son for his birthday. Too bad the seller "azulblue4" likes to sell activity books that have already been written in and try to rip people off.

Cute & great quality
Very cute activity book that ties to the Iggy Peck story. Bought for my 5yr but it will take parent help because a lot of it requires reading. Fun, imaginative projects they can do.

Not age aligned to the book
We bought this for our bright and articulate 5 year old who wants to be an architect and enjoys the Iggy Peck Architect picture book. The picture book is really not suitable for kids between 4 and 6 years old, this project book is more suites for 8 or 10 year olds. For example, several of the projects ask them to visualise being in a hardware store (it's very American with the vocab), supermarket or world where there are just sweets and draw the type of architectural construction iggy would build. This task needs to combine knowledge of hardware shop sales items, the ability to visualise how they would fit together to build a structure and an understanding of what times of buildings there are.The book goes on with a range of similarly complex tasks: ask a family member to tell you the house they want, go over your design with them, check it meets requirements and redesign; design a house from scratch utilising wind and solar power; design a temporary structure that let's giraffes and sloths live together. It's not actually that the book is such a bad book, an enthusiastic 9 year old into architecture would enjoy the challenges. The issue I have is that it completely misses the level for the readership of the picture book it accompanies. To be age appropriate for kids reading the picture book it would require much less abstract thought, give more in the way of guidance and assume much less in terms of general knowledge.I would like to see another book brought out that is similar, but more suited to 4-7 year olds. This could then be marketed as a follow on book for 8-11 year olds.

This is a lovely bookbñ but is not suitable for the age range given in the product description. I bought it as a gift for a 7 year old, but the reading level is much higher. There are some wonderful ideas but they need explanation and supervision from an adult. It's a shame, because I wanted to but him a book he could take out on a rainy day and work autonomously with. Unfortunately this isn't it. The book would be great for a slightly older child, perhaps 9 to 11.
