This is a great addition to your nest if the stock white rectangle isn't for you (and it shouldn't be). It's extremely easy to install (tip: take a photo of the wiring of the nest before you do anything), and looks fantastic on the wall. I have the brass version and it is a perfect match for the brass Nest. I was originally sent the bronze (despite ordering the brass), and the seller immediately shipped me a replacement, no returns required or questions asked. 5/5

This product is significantly superior to the humble abode one. I purchased humble abode first and had to return it because it was scratched up and the surface was poorly finished. I decided to give elago a try because it was a few dollars more so I figured maybe it would be higher quality. I was not mistaken. Shiny, fingerprint resistant surface, professional laser engraved printing, perfect condition. Happy I didn’t give up on this kind of wall plate after humble abode and that I gave elago a try. Very very worth the few extr $$$ trust me, get this one, if you get humble abode you will be returning it.

This was the second plate that I purchased for my Nest, and I am very pleased with it! The color matches the copper Nest very well UNLIKE the first "copper" plate (different brand) that I purchased which was straight up gold. This one works perfectly for the need of covering up old thermostat holes. It blends in so well, that I makes the Nest look like art on the wall.

After two returns and what feels like viewing thousands of products; I finally found a good looking plate for the nest. It’s sleek and covers the old thermostat butterfly anchors. This will fit any generation because there aren’t any groves to fit the nest. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

It looks great on the wall and color matches. So it’s a great addition to complete the look. Pros - Easy to install - Looks fantastic Cons - Expensive for a single piece of metal - No mounting hardware included - Requires vertical mounting (using the 2 vertical screw holes to mount to drywall) Using the vertical mounts as indicated may cause you to put a screw where your wires are run. For users I’d suggest making sure you select shallow screws and snake a camera to verify you won’t hit anything. Prep the wall first by sanding/painting surface irregularities out. Noting that this should be perfectly flush against the wall. Finally, including some mounting hardware such as some screws would make it a better value.

Edited my older review to state that this wall plate works just fine with the latest 4th generation nest thermostat. The black finish with the black thermostat looks °much° better than the white oval wall plate that nest supplies with the thermostat kit. Didn't use for a nest thermostat but worked well for another project. I bought this item to go as a base to cover my ceiling junction box that powers a motion-sensed night light. The screw holes don't line up with a standard junction box but I only needed to secure it with a single drywall screw as this was more than adequate to hold it tight. Being thick aluminum, I have no worries of it's strength. Also, since this was being used on the ceiling and not a wall, any gaps from it not sitting flush are not noticible. Overall, the project turned out well and I now have a hardwired ceiling mounted motion night light similar to the nest protect or other such detectors for a much cheaper price.

I hated the look of the wall plate that came with the Nest. Guess I could have painted it black or silver and it might have looked good. I bought this knowing I'd have to do a little sanding and painting because it won't cover the area if your old wall plate was rectangular like the Nest wall plate. I also put a small bead of silicone around the edge because it didn't sit flush on the wall. My little project looks great now and it is a quality piece of aluminum. Highly recommend!

Per l’installazione su una scatola 3 posti Italiana è necessario inserire all’interno dell stessa un corpo nel quale ancorare le viti. PRO: - Ottima fattura CONTRO: - Necessità di una modifica alla cassetta per la corretta installazione ( io ho risolto inserendo al suo interno il cartone della stessa placca e ancorando ad esso la stessa ). Fit perfectly with the Google Nest Thermostat 3rd generation.

Purchased the bronze version to compliment the copper version of the nest thermostat and it matches perfectly. See my photos for what I mean. So I wanted to fit my nest over an old UK one gang wall box and the nest itself would leave gaps around the four corners and the included nest white cover plate is terrible quality and makes it look like a bodge job. This plate however is perfect. Strong and elegant and well made I’m pleased with the quality and final look even at the price of £20 paid. The four holes are the same size as the electrical screw holders in the wall box so it was a case of removing old wall plate. Getting the nest mount and this back plate and putting the two screws back into the wall box fittings. No extra work needed. There is a little play with the holes to allow for extra precise adjustment and once tight, no one will ever know what is behind. Absolutely perfect!

Looks very sharp with the copper Nest Thermostat. High quality anodized aluminum which looks much more premium and attractive compared to the white plastic base plate provided by Google. Everyone comments on how good it looks. Also extremely easy to install. Absolutely nothing to dislike.
