Scent:Cucumber Sage Jivi started with a problem. Most of the skin care around us is full of crap: petrochemicals, synthetics, and active ingredients extracted and isolated from their plants. We were constantly turning to the back of supposedly natural products to find ingredients that were clearly produced in a lab, not in nature. Or we’d look online and find companies highlighting the few natural ingredients they use, while hiding or not listing the remaining unnatural ingredients (not a good sign). And the products that were natural were too expensive for us to use daily. So, we started Jivi to create a truly natural and affordable skin care option with ingredients we're happy to show off. All of our products are made by us, in the USA, out of 100% natural ingredients. They are both highly effective and safe enough to eat. Yep, you read that right. Skin is the largest organ of our bodies, and a lot of what we put on it gets absorbed into our bloodstream. So we decided that if we can’t eat it, we shouldn’t feed it to our skin. That means no chemicals, no parabens, and nothing synthetic. We’re rethinking skin care: from how we source our ingredients and formulate our products to how we bottle them (to avoid harsh preservatives) and get them to your doorstep. We are always looking for ways to create options for better health. We recognize that skin care is a luxury, and that there are people around us who are more concerned with what they can put in their bodies than on them. In almost every community across our country, people we interact with on a daily basis, co-workers and classmates, may be forced to make difficult choices: do I eat or pay rent? do I feed my family or get my insulin? As members of those communities, we want to be part of the solution. We partner with food banks across the country so that for every bottle you buy, we donate a meal, where you live, to a person in need. That way you get great skin and get to help improve the lives of people around you.

IT’S DIFFERENT... and that’s a good thing....Also hysterical packaging
Hysterical packaging, they deserve six stars just for that.This moisturizer is very different than anything I’m used to, and that’s actually a good thing. I have oily combo skin. After I wash my face, my skin is so dry and tight for awhile before the oil slick comes in my t-zone areas.When I got this, I noticed it is a little harder to pump out than a normal moisturizer, and it comes out a little thick. The smell is slightly unusual, but it’s just a combo of the natural ingredients without all the chemical perfumes, so you have to get used to the texture and smell, neither are “bad” at all, but they are different. You also have to be sure you put just the right amount on, too little and it won’t spread out, too thick and it will just stay on top of skin and not absorb.All that being said, I’ve noticed a BIG improvement in my skin since I started using this product. My skin seems less oily, more even toned, less irritated, less red, more calm, and less acne prone. I’m not an all natural hippie chick by any means, but this product is making me re-think that. Maybe it’s about time I started using more natural products like this to improve my skin. I really like this stuff and it has improved my skin a lot. I will be ordering it again.I have NOT gotten any free samples/products from this company, nor have I been paid for this review. I just really like the product, and I agree with all the other good reviews.

I first got a sample of this moisturizer in an ipsy bag and was excited from the description. I much prefer products that are more natural and clearly this item fits that bill. Very pleasing transaction all around and would certainly recommend anyone give it a try.

I think I'm in love
I've tried a lot of moisturizers, namely Cetaphil for acne prone skin (too much like a sunscreen for me and I got greasy quick), Clean and Clear's salicylic acid moisturizer (overdrying and tough on my skin), MAC moisture cream (fine, but it seemed to take so much for my skin to feel less dry)... The list goes on. This one seems perfect for me with my combination skin with patchy acne. I tan easily; I never burn unless it's enough sun to cause sun poisoning, so I don't need a strong sunscreen at all. This moisturizer smells super fresh, exactly like cucumber, and it never makes me feel oily or greasy or like my face is melting when I go outside. A little seems to go a long way for me. At first the squeeze top seems tricky, but you just have to get used to applying more pressure to get the moisturizer to come out. It seems to calm down red patches on my skin from acne irritation like a charm. I haven't felt dry, flaky skin on my face since I started using it! It seems like the perfect fit for my skin and I'm really glad I tried this out; I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do at all.(Just as a note, I use a gentle daily cleanser without acne medication, tea tree oil, a Vitamin C serum, and follow up with this moisturizer twice a day. I can't say how it works with acne-medicated face washes, etc.)

Super fun company/awesome product!
1) This company is amazing! Their packaging is so cute and they include handwritten cards and thank you notes with every order. There was even an adorable business card w the expiration date on it!2) The product is excellent. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a daily moisturizer— smells great, color correcting, spf, non pore clogging, packed with skin food, and all organic!! The super sanitary pump was the cherry on top.Totally hooked. Thanks y’all!

Great moisturizer. Feel-good company.
I was looking for an inexpensive general moisturizer to replace the Aveeno I had been using, as it had been leaving my skin too dry in the colder months. I went to Jivi's website and ordered some samples, and then placed an order for the full size lavender moisturizer.The moisturizer itself is thick and absorbs quickly, and is really not oily in any way. I immediately started seeing a different in the hydration level of my skin. It leaves my skin with a light dewy glow that I love. I was concerned the lavender fragrance might be overwhelming but I find it to be a really perfect balance. I look forward to putting it on to get that little relaxing lavender moment.One of the big perks is that Jivi really seems to be making it easy to feel good about ordering their products. Their products are 100% natural, mostly organic, locally sourced where they can, and they donate a meal to a local food bank for each order. And they're doing it at a reasonable price. Can't beat it! I'll be ordering more.
