Fantastic book and series
The Sun Sister: The Sisters Series Book 6 is by Lucinda Riley. This long-awaited book was well worth the LONG wait. With Electra being of African American descent, this book deals with many of the problems African Americans have dealt with in the United States as well as in other places. She brings up things we would rather ignore than admit in relation to race relations as well as religious tolerance. Along with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as the prostitution and sex-slavery that goes with them, Lucinda brings those frightful things to light to keep us aware of them and we see how a group of people gather together to give the help they can. It is a very inspirational work.Electra is the last of the six adopted sisters that Pa Salt gathered at his home called Atlantis. The girls are of different cultures and races and yet were brought up as sisters, to see beyond their looks into the person they really were. From the time she was brought home, she was always the loudest, most daring, and most discontent of the girls. She screamed her way through childhood. When she was old enough to attend school and attended one whose children were being brought up to be the upper class, she was bullied and ostracized for telling lies (she just exaggerated the truth at first; but no one believed the truth.) As she kept getting into trouble through no fault of her own, she reassessed the situation and began to get in trouble on purpose. After leaving school , she fled to Pairs where she got a waitress job and then was picked up by a producer and his faith in her led to her career as a high fashion model. She began to thrive and become famous for her shots. Now she is floundering in a sea of cocaine and alcohol. Where will she turn? Will she finally look for the clues which tell where to begin looking for her past? When she does find her past, will it be what she needs? Now we must wait again for Book 7 in the series to find out who the last sister is.

good read
It had more twists & turns than the previous books in the series, which made it a little more difficult of a read for me. It’s said, “all is well that ends well” & this one ended well…

Better and Better
At this point, I completed 6 of the books in this series. Each one takes me on a journey. The author is the best when it comes to story-line and creating characters. Each time I feel as if it is real-time due to the amazing writing and attention to monologue, narrative, and details. I always learn something new.I always fall in love with the characters, the stories, the locations, and more. Thank you Lucinda Riley!

Wonderful Read
I loved this installment of the Seven Sisters series from Lucinda Riley. This may be the one I’ve enjoyed the most because of the association drawn between past and present, and how real human crises do not change with time. The heart is still the heart! To me, this novel is the most picturesque and beautifully written. I felt as if I was in long-ago Kenya with Cecily, and could see, hear, smell and taste the landscapes as described by the author. Electra’s bent on self-destruction is so well explained, and her angst is palpable. I don’t wish to write a spoiler review, so I will simply say this is one of my favorites! I will reread this many times, I’m certain, because Ms. Riley’s attention to detail means I surely missed a few things along the way. The only negative I have is that the ending seemed rushed. I know it’s a very large novel, but there were some loose ends tied up too quickly and some not at all. This did not take a lot away from the pleasure I enjoyed while devouring this remarkable story within 3 days. I’m looking forward to the next in the series, as I think maybe that will tie up all those unsolved mysteries.

great book
I love the story telling. I was enthralled every minute. I wish this series would never end. Loved this and all the other books.

most depth of all the books in the series
Even though Electra is the most standoffish of the sisters, her journey feels the most believable of all the sisters. Even though she is a supermodel her struggles are real, while her sisters who have much more regular lives and problems go through trivial hardships.

Possibly my favourite of the series!
I've been binge reading this series, since them being recommended to me, and am nearly finished with book 7. But this one, the sixth, I think may be my favourite. I wasn't actually looking forward to it, as I knew from the previous books about her sisters that Electra was a supermodel, and I thought it might all be a bit dull, but both the parts set in Kenya and also Electra's own story, was really enjoyable. And the relationship between Cecily and Bill was one of the best I've read...heartwarming, frustrating, sad.
