If it had worked, this would have been a nice enclosure because it’s made out of metal which would help dissipate the heat generated by the SSD. However, it didn’t work with at least two B+M drives I tried on three different machines. The PCs would not recognize any drives mounted on the adapter.Additionally, it doesn’t come with an appropriate stand-off to mount the SSD level with the board. There is a small nylon washer enclosed which I used under the SSD to lift it off the PCB but it leaves the SSD slightly bent downwards. I don’t know if it’s noticeable in my photo, but the gist of it is that the washer is not thick enough, and there is no other option.In any case, even if mine was just a bad unit, there are better options out there.

I get a "the device failed due to a fatal device hardware error" when trying to initialize my ssd to clone. tried on different pcs

Haven't confirmed that it works yet. Installed in my Acer Aspire 7741g via cd tray caddy. Bios isnt picking up the drive. Will move to stock hd location. 5 stars if iit's working. Nice construction. Drive retainer screw is a bit short which bends the adapter. Would be better if there was a standoff in that location.

Didn’t fit the m.2 I purchased it for, idk if it was the wrong item or just poorly made. Letdown.
