I purchased the "Summer Bridge Activities 2nd to 3rd Grade Workbook" for my 8-year-old, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This comprehensive workbook is a fantastic tool to keep children engaged and learning during the summer break. My sibling is an elementary school teacher and introduced me to these books when my son was in Kindergarten and I honestly have not looked back. My LO loved a good challenge so we typically do multiple days to ensure we finish it in its entirety during the summer. I'm constantly recommending these books every summer as I have not yet found anything to replace it. Each section is well-organized and filled with age-appropriate activities that challenge and entertain. Book provides daily activities to keep a child's mind sharp in-between school years. Material seems appropriate for ths age group intended. The questions are adequate as normal workbook questions but not the most engaging for the child themselves. Luckily it limits two pages per day. The book is calculated off standard time and doesnt correspond to normal summer schedule so some days need to be grouped to complete prior to the end of summer. Overall good book for summer learning outside of other more interactive tools.

This is probably the best workbook that I have ordered for my 8 year old. The pages are right at his level with a ton of challenges that stretch into the next school year, which is 3rd grade for him. The pages are one day each, front and back - about 15/20 minutes to complete. The pages are numbered from day 1 to 60, so it’s easy to pick up and keep going. A reward chart in the back for each day completed that the book includes stickers for it. Also a fun reading challenge into a bingo card that he started the first day - “read to a stuffed animal”, super cute. Haven’t gotten to the flash cards but will soon when we get deeper into the workbook. Will order again for the summertime and look into the other workbooks!

So far this has been a worthwhile purchase. Has a variety of math and reading/ELA problems as well as some other activities like for mindfulness and fun as well as reading challenges at the beginning of the book. Pages are well perforated for easy tear-out, but we’ve just been keeping them in. Answer guide at the back of the book if needed. I think it’s on point for grade level based on homework my daughter brought home in second grade.. Some things seem a bit too easy for her, but she does really well in math/reading so it’s hard to tell. If your kid is also ahead of their peers in these areas, you may want to go a level up if you’re looking to challenge them. But if your kid needs more guidance, beware that this gives some examples but there is not a lot of teaching points in the book- they kind of have to already know the concepts.

Love this book for our son. Definitely age appropriate and I’m hoping it will help keep his skills sharp over the summer. I love the mindfulness and play breaks on the pages as well. The answers are in the back and easy to understand. With the IXL access and flash cards in the back you can get so much out of this book! Our son is 8, going into 3rd and does well academically overall and a days worth of pages take him 5-10 minutes depending on the activity. Our summer is a bit shorter than what the book affords so he does about 2 days worth each day which gives him more of a challenge and variety each day as the subjects can be spaced out some. Highly recommend!!
