I love these little indicators. They work really well in general. About 8 out of ten come out of the box just perfect, a few are sticky or stiff, etc- send those back. You'll get a good one. I have some really nice Interapid, Starrett's and B&S but I like these for everyday jobs like tramming in a vise or a head. I don't think of DTI's as quantitative tools even on a surface plate really. These things work really well for the price. If I drop one or run one against a stop, or turn on the spindle - its not a catastrophe. Fills a great need for everyday use. They're actually pretty rugged. Great value for me.

This is a really good for the money test indicator. It appears reasonably accurate. If your livelihood depends on instruments like this, spend the money and get the good ones. If you're a weekend warrior like me, I think you will be happy. It's dirt cheap. I will likely order another in case this one takes a poo

Very nice dial test indicator. The face is very small, only about 1.25" in diameter but the meter is well constructed and very sensitive. Its movement is very smooth across its entire range of motion and it returns to zero precisely and consistently. It's a great little meter especially considering its economical price.

On a 5 though indication the part is 7. At 15 thou, it is actually 20. THe indicator is horribly inaccurate.Sure it will show a trend.. its X off each way.. if centering etc.. but the amount its off is unacceptable.

I mostly use this for tramming vices and it has been very, very reliable for that. Accurate, good results, quick setup, everything I need and nothing I don't.

Low quality. You get what you pay for. Good for crude or high tolerance applications
