Kinks Easily Without Sufficient Pump Pressure
I purchased this to use as a discharge hose for an RV macerator pump ( SewerFlo Quick Release RV Macerator Pump - 12V, 12GPM RV Dump Station Mount ). Unfortunately, the discharge hose kinks very easily if it's not in a near perfect straight line and isn't under sufficient pressure to force the kinks out. Picture a fire hose. I could barely get any macerator pump flow through the hose beyond about 50 feet.Hose quality is fine. It seems plenty sturdy enough to get the job done. Just make sure you'll either be keeping the hose in a straight line if you have low pump pressure, or ensure your pump has sufficient pressure to force the kinks out if you don't have the discharge hose in a completely straight line.I switched back to a 3/4" garden hose and it works perfectly.

Solved: No more bursting or leaking backwash hoses!
I got a new pool pump and filter during a remodel. Every other cheap blue backwash hose I bought would either burst from the pressure or get pinholes in it immediately. I finally decided to quit messing around and get this - boy I'm glad I did! This hose is TOUGH. I attached some PVC removable pipe couplers to each end and did a little extra plumbing off the backwash outlet on my filter so it would discharge out at ground level. Then, I screw on my coupler with the hose, run it 100 feet from my back yard to the sewer cleanup in the front in a nice arching curve so there's no kinks. This hose can take the pressure, and it doesn't get any holes from dragging it across the crushed granite rocks. When I'm done, I take a big plastic tub and lay it back and forth in it (think how a fire hose lays in a fire truck) and then put the lid on it, which blocks the smell. (It does smell!)

Pricey, but worth it over the cheaper throw away options.
So this thing is obviously not cheap, but I purchased a $15 50' hose when I first moved in to the house that has our pool for backwashing. The hose was stretched out but was folded over on itself ONCE along the entire length. When I turned the pump on, this fold quickly turned into a kink, and before I knew what happened the hose split.I decided to take the plunge and spend 4-5 times the cheap version to get one that hopefully would stand the test of time. I have only used it for a few weeks, so can't speak to the longevity of it, but can tell you I will gladly give 5 stars for its perceived durability. This this is HEAVY and HEAVY DUTY. It is a workout getting it stretched out or rolled up, but I don't mind, because to me that means it won't split!I believe this is rated for somewhere around 60 psi? That is much more than my pool pump could ever generate, so like I said I am hoping it will last. Very happy with the purchase overall.

Great for draining the pool
In Florida, it rains like a fire hose every month or so which overflows the pool. Our old black rubber hose sprung a leak on the 2nd use, so I bought this one hoping for something more durable. I do not expect to see leaks in this new hose for years. It is very thick and reinforced. It is also much heavier and a standard plastic pool spool will not hold it all. I cut ours back to 70 ft (all we need to reach our pond). It barely fit on a power-cord spool and is quite a bit heftier than the old one. Used it twice already this summer and I am quite happy with it.

Perfect Long Lasting Backwash Hose
I use this as my pool backwash hose because I was tired of replacing the old hoses a couple times per season. This hose is really heavy duty, more expensive then the cheap heavy duty backwash hoses but worth every penny. I leave these hoses out all winter with no issues the following year. My current hose is several years old and still work perfect without any splitting or leaks.

Heavy Duty Solution for Pool Drainage -
Very high quality - using for pool draining from 1 1/2" pipe. Might be over-kill but should last forever. FYI - Don't recommend storing inside a home - The "gas-off" odor is extremely intense, so would be better if permanently stored outside, which isn't possible where I live in cold weather. I kept smelling a gaseous type odor in my entire basement, traced it back to this one item in a small mechanical room within the basement. So I moved to a garage. Another tip - I needed about 125' so used some sections of 1 1/2" PVC tubing with couplers and hose clamp for the remaining distance. Using this PVC pipe at the end of the line, there is limited pressure and you can just fit the PVC sections together without cementing, take apart for easy storage.

Great substitute for pool cover water bags!
Tired of fighting cheap, leaky water bags to keep pool cover in place. Used 100' of this cut into sections as shown in pictures to surround my 30x15 pool. So far so good. Haven't been through a freeze yet (N. Texas) and will try to update review, but we've had some windy nights and so far it is staying in place! Looks so much better too.

Reordering after 6 years
Costs more and worth every penny. This is a very heavy duty hose. I live in Arizona and the sun and cactus spines are tough on my pool backwash hose. I went for the cheapest one last time and it did not last at all. I have not had this very long, but I'm very confident it will last for a good number of years.Update Nov. 2019: I just happened across this old order and thought I would update this review. I've had the hose for 4 years now. I used to roll it up and at least semi-protect when not actively using it for backwashing, but I've gotten lazy and it has been in the Arizona sun for the last couple of years. It is still doing fine and I still completely recommend it.Update October 2021: I just ordered a new hose. The 6 year old stuff is starting to leak. Like I say above, I got lazy a number of years ago and it has been abused in the Arizona sun. Great hose. I just hope the new one is same as the old. I'll update if it is not.

After a month and a half, it is doing the job without fail.
It is in use as a discharge line on an RV macerator septic system. Works perfectly as long as it has no kinks folds or bends.

Works so far
Tried it once so far, worked just like my old 14 year old one that split recently. This type is cost effective but is hard to find as my usual pool supply stores didn't have this. Glad I found it at CT!
