Hobie Kayak Sidekick AMA Kit Green

Installed mine on my 2018 Hobie Outback. Easy install. Put on or off in 5 minutes. My one and only gripe is in the lowest position the little tab that has to be pushed up to release the arms is impossible to access because its blocked by the kayak itself. So I only use the next position which is too bad because the lowest position gives the kayak its best stability.

After I feel out of the Kayak, I had researched these and they are the best. Stable, easy to install and I can relax , enjoy fishing. Very good quality, easy to inflate, recommend these to all water sports kayaker's

I have 2 Perception Acadia 12.5 kayaks. Last summer I added Falcon sales to both boats. I wanted a little more stability for wind gusts and for fishing. I bought 1 set of sidekicks and 1 set of Scotty stabilizers. By far the best product is is the sidekicks. I have purchased a new 15.5 foot kayak and I am setting it up now with a sail, rudder, backband and sidekicks. The only difficulty with mounting the Sidekicks to a sit in is making the brackets to modify the mounting. I made them from plastic with a vertical belt sander and a drill press.Just make sure you mount the Sidekicks far enough to the rear of the cockpit so you don't hit them with your paddle. Suggestion: Buy two paddle T handles to put on the ends of the center tube. They will protect the ends and give jou a nice handle to muscle around your kayak. They also work well to convert your double paddle to single when you get into tight places.

For the times I want to stand up and fish from my Hobie Revolution, these sidekicks give me the stability to do so. Installation was easy. The system packs up small, good for limited cargo area.

Used to kit on a hobie revolution. not that it really needed them, but i often fished with my big labrador in the back, and it was nice to know the kayak wasnt tipping whatsoever. only complaint is that they pop easily from hooks(which i guess is pretty obvious) and spare parts were tough to come by.i also liked to flip the floats upside down, with the float in the air, above the part where the rod slides in to keep them entirely up out of the water..warning- wont work well with paddle kayaks!

Great product must have if you have a kayak and fish

Not for use with Mirage pro angler. In very very small print in their catalog after I got one it said not for use with Mirage pro angler I have a 2015 Model and it won't mount anywhere. Unless you feel like modifying a new poll like I'm going to do.

A wave hit and broke them. Under calm waters they are OK. Also the tubes have a thin canvas. Overall just OK
