NTK 24255 Oxygen Sensor

Unlike one other lower quality oxygen sensor that I purchased through Amazon that was advertised as being in NGK/NTK packaging but actually arrived in a plastic bag, this product actually was boxed as advertised. It also appeared to be an identical replacement sensor of the same quality as the OEM sensor that it replaced. I should have returned the other one which appeared to be a lower quality knock-off being misrepresented as OEM-type. I did not wait until the one of the OEM oxygen sensors (V6 engine, one upstream and one downstream sensor for each of the two exhaust manifolds) failed on my vehicle. The engine was running fine, but it had around 115K miles on the odometer and oxygen sensors operate in a harsh environment, so I figured it was time. After giving the ECU a little time to adjust to the new inputs from the new oxygen sensors, it did seem like the engine ran a little more smoothly and gas mileage improved a bit.

I kept getting random check engine light . Ran diagnostic and found out it was a failing O2 sensor. Bought the sensor. The sensor comes pre lubricated and was exactly what i needed. Google a video on how to dyi. You need to get a sensor wrench and a car ramp as well to reach the sensor under the car.

The sensor came delivered in OE packaging. Looks to be authentic. Definitely be aware of the seller, since many reported delivery in a plain plastic bag. As you can see the sensor is packaged in NTK packaging, in a sealed NTK bag. Installation was very simple. Unfortunately the clips do not align when installed on a 2005 Pilot EX. Only the clip by the axle clipped into place. The others did not align. I used zip ties to organize the rest of the cable to the connector. I still highly rate it. Not enough to knock a star off, as I had already known from other reviews. I would have liked for NTK to provide the zip tie clips separate to install on any application.

The oxygen sensor fits correctly and works as expected, but the performance is just average. Installation was straightforward, however the response time seems slower compared to OEM sensors. It does the job, but I was expecting better reliability for the price.
