Beautiful love story
Something that should be noted immediately is that this book could be a trigger to sexual assault victims.Cam and Avery’s love story is truly like no other. Their relationship is explosive from the beginning—as she literally plows right into him. And there is something that is immediately unsettling with how she reacts to him. The banter between the two of them is unmatched and Cam is intrigued by the mysterious girl who ran from class. But Avery has a dark secret—a secret that she has pushed down for many, many years and traveled across the country to escape. But when messages start popping into her email and her phone and threaten to reveal this secret, Avery immediately goes into fight or flight to protect herself.JLA’s male characters are always a smoke show—so it’s no surprise that Cam feisty and confident. What I love about him the most is that he courted Avery. JLA handled a very sensitive topic with such grace and class that I was truly blown away—his character is how everyone should be towards someone who have experienced sexual assault and in an intimate relationship. On to the next. 5/5, JLA!!

Cam is the perfect book boyfriend!
“Cam was charming, nice, sweet, and funny. He was the kind of guy you wanted to bring home and show off - the kind of guy that was never single for too long and the one you feel head over heels in love with.”“I’ve wanted to be with you since the first time you turned me down. I’ve just been waiting for you to come around.”Jennifer Armentrout is my absolute favorite author. Anything that she writes, I will read because that woman can write. When I’m reading her books I feel like I’m living the story as the characters do and I get so incredibly emotionally invested in the outcome and this book is no different. So hold on, because Wait For You takes you on a ride.Avery is a socially awkward girl from Texas that has some trauma in her past and just wants to get away from everything that reminds her of it so she enrolls in college in West Virginia. Then as she’s running late for her first day of class she literally runs right into Cameron Hamilton, who just so happens to be drop dead gorgeous. From this impromptu meeting a friendship develops and Avery finds herself beginning to succumb to Cam’s charm. But they are both hiding things from their past so how far can things really go?Avery is such a sweet girl and I feel for her throughout the book. As the story progresses you find out exactly what happened to her in Texas and that her past isn’t done with her even though she has tried her best to put it behind her. I loved seeing Avery come to terms with her past and realize that while it will always be a part of who she is, she does not have to let it define her life. When she finally opened up to Cam I was thrilled because I knew that he is exactly what she needs in her life. Now on to Cam. Cue all the swoons. Cam may actually be the perfect book boyfriend. He’s hot, sweet, funny, caring and protective without being overbearing. He’s not a perfect person, he’s done things in his past that he’s not proud of but he owns his mistakes and he is there for Avery even when she pushes him away. Not to mention his persistence in trying to get Avery to go on a date with him. I love Cam so much and I want him to make some of his cookies for me!Have you ever had book characters stick you with you long after you’ve finished reading the book? That’s what happens to me with characters in this series. Something will make me think of one of the characters and then they’re stuck in my head until I go back and read their book. It’s why I usually end up reading this series at least once a year. Not, that I’m complaining because I love Wait For You and the rest of the books in the series and rereading them is like catching up with an old friend.“I have hope because I love you - I’ve been in love with you, Avery. Probably before I even realized that I was.”“Everything was okay. Maybe not perfect, but life wasn’t meant to be perfect. It was messy and sometimes it was a disaster, but there was beauty in the messiness and there could be peace in the disaster.”

Typical Plot but Amazing Nonetheless!
I read Wait For You during one of those book reading binge weeks where you go through one after the other and are up until 3 am finishing off a story, reading at any free minute you can have. I go through these times often, and I always find that a downside can be that a book that may regularly have been quite good on a regular week, becomes less impressive as its started the minute after you finish a different book, many of them blending together or being forgotten the moment its done. Yet I also find in these book reading binge weeks, I gain even more appreciation for the book or two that really stands out, the one that I am still thinking about as I move onto the next book. Wait For You definitely fell into the latter category. J.Lynn does an amazing job with this one, and the story of Avery Morgansten got the first five star rating I have given out in the last dozens of books I’ve read. It takes a lot for me to take the jump from giving a book I enjoyed a 4 star rating to giving it a 5 star one. I don’t take my five star ratings lightly, I just feel like they need to be saved for the few books that managed to illicit every reaction under the sun from me. Wait For You does that, and I can’t wait for some time to pass so I can read it all over again. So, stop reading my rambling and go read this awesome story, now, please :)Wait For You tells the story of Avery Morgansten, a former popular, still filthy rich girl from Texas who is ready to start over again at university in West Virginia. A new beginning is exactly what she needs-one far away from her unsupportive family and cruel classmates, one where she can try and move past the horrible night she endured five years ago that has defined her ever since. She knows she should make new friends, and she is quickly able to find them in the loud and ridiculous, Jacob and the spunky, loyal, Britt. Yet a hot new guy to swoon over? That was never part of her plan. But Cam, the campus hottie, is a hard one to ignore, especially when he lives across the hall. Is it as cliche as it sounds? For the most part, yes. But its predictability and commonplace plot did not at all take away from it being captivating and emotional. The thing that I loved most about their story is that while there were definite elements of instalove that you can find in most YA and NA stories, their relationship did not progress at a ridiculously fast pace (compared to most other stories). I really enjoyed Cam becoming Avery’s friend and support system before becoming her boyfriend, and time and time again he proved himself to be an amazing guy. And dear god, him with his tortoise was just about the best little addition to the story. Gave me a good laugh a few times. Cam, aside from being gorgeous and daydreamy, was able to encompass elements of being an alpha male while also being clearly very kind, intuitive and daring. Basically I want to marry him right now, please and thank you. I really appreciated how he handled Avery’s recovery process, as a few stories I read the same time as this one showcased that not all guys are as understanding and intuitive. Avery, on the other hand, was not as lovable as Cam, but that was okay with me as I generally feel that away about the main character. She could be a bit too wishy washy for my taste, wanting to have Cam around but then pushing him away when he was, and she wasn't a very fun character. All the humor and light heartedness came from just about every character other than her, but I did enjoy seeing her work through the issues of her past and really grow as a person towards the end. There was one aspect of this story I wasn’t too keen of, which was the stalking/harassment that Avery was experiencing. The way it played out was a little odd and anticlimactic. Even so, every other aspect of their story was enjoyable and well written. It brings you characters with lots of depth, a swoon worthy couple, just the right amount of suspense and drama without being overdone, and a great, genuine story of recovery. I cannot recommend this one enough!

Beautiful :)
I'm rather emotionally drained and frankly exhausted as it's 1am and I've been reading this non stop for 6 hours! So I'll review after I've slept :)Ok, I've slept and ready to get this off my chest!I know when a romance has grabbed me when I'm reading huge portions of the book with a goofy grin on my face! The interaction between Cam and Avery was so cute and Cam really made me laugh sometimes with his comments, and his self assuredness. He was fantastic, a little bit too good to be true but hey it wouldn't be much worth reading romance if the heroes weren't desirable, right?I loved all the wooing, I loved how Cam treated her so gently but always with respect and tenderness. I could keep gushing!Avery was at times frustrating but I did understand her attitude and until the bracelet incident I think she handled Cam with integrity. Yes I'm sure she gave mixed signals but he knew what was going on. It was so obvious he knew all along which makes it all the more special that he did wait for her. This was a pretty emotional book at times. I'm on record as saying that I think a certain topic is rather overused in New Adult books and this book hasn't changed my mind on that. I do feel it was well dealt with in this case though and the focus was on Avery making a life and learning to trust and to love. Ultimately this was a love story and it was beautiful. As I've said, I read this in 6 hours straight, so I think that has to be an endorsement of how well the book flowed and the writing style grabbed me. The characters were so beautifully written. It did feel like it dragged at times, I wanted them to get on with it already, but well I was tired and as you can see I didn't mark it down.In summary, a great book for that emotional ride and for gushing over a beautiful romance!

Absolutely loved it
I am working my way through her books at the moment and this is the first book I’ve read of hers that isn’t fantasy. I absolutely loved it, read it in less than a day! You sort of have an idea of what the main character has been through but it was still unexpected. I loved reading their relationship develop and it’s a very sweet story. Really enjoyed it overall

I want me some Cam Hamilton
Avery is desperate to escape her past, and her neglectful parents, so she enrolls in college in West Virgina. Sweet and innocent, she's still struggling to deal with the events from five years ago that irrevocably changed her life forever. She literally bumps head-first into Cam Hamilton on Day 1, and they both feel an instant attraction. Initially weary of him, due to his player reputation, she comes to enjoy his company and has to fend off his near-daily requests to take her out. Cam was so sweet in the way he did this, and the protective manner he displayed towards Avery. It's very obvious what happened to her, but we don't hear the full story until the latter part of the book. We also find out that Cam is harboring his own secret, and he's scared that Avery will take off running for the hills when she finds out.The romance plays out like a lot of JLA romances - constant flirtations, near brushes, getting together and falling out etc, but ultimately they end up together and you can see how perfect they are for each other. The themes are quite dark in this novel, it's definitely not for young teens. I thought Jennifer handled the traumatic event that Avery experienced very delicately, and the emotions she experienced were very real. I could totally imagine how she would feel the way she felt, and her fear of intimacy was completely understandable. I loved how Cam was so patient, and so willing to wait for her until she was ready. Always willing to put her needs above his own. Her parents on the other hand, made me want to hurl.As usual I raced through this :)And I loved it. I've always felt that Jennifer writes romance so well, now I can add sex to the list. The only thing I didn't like was how Cam called Avery sweetheart all the time. Now this is kinda signature Jennifer. Daemon called Kat Kitten, Seth called Alex Angel etc. To me 'sweetheart' is something a sleazy old bloke says, not a hot young stud-muffin. It just felt so unnatural for Cam to call her this. It's my only gripe though, and it's really minor.Jennifer has been quoted as saying she writes books very quickly - I believe she wrote this in 20 days. I'm in awe of her talent. As a writer I wish I could deliver such quality so quickly. I'm holding out hope that she'll master the art of writing a book a day so that I constantly have a JLA book in my hand. That would be the stuff dreams are made of!! (Laughing at my own cheesiness!)

Surprisingly powerful read
I ordered this as a bit of light reading, knowing I enjoy the author's writing style under her Jennifer Armentrout pen-name. I was surprised to find that this novel has a lot of depth and an emotional punch that is quite serious going at times, but, thank god, all comes right in the end. This is a powerful novel about hurt and redemption and the very difficult path between the two, even if you're not at fault and the world has treated you very badly. The male protagonist, Cam, is, perhaps needless to say, perfect in all kinds of ways that people often aren't, but then I guess this novel isn't supposed to be about people who've had ordinary lives. The bad thing that happened in the past is rather more shocking than you imagine for the first three-quarters of the book, so it's definitely not a sloppy romance. A definite must-read.

Anything JLA!
Anything that J.Lynn aka Jennifer L. Armentrout writes, I'll read it. I don't care if it's a novella, a short story or a full book and I'll read it. She fast became one of my favourite authors and I'm hoping she'll continue knocking out fantastic books, like Wait for You.Wait for You is a New Adult story and you all know how popular these type of stories have become in the last year, and by the looks of it, there's hear to stay. I'm a huge fan of it but what I find it sometimes, they can be a tad predictable. However, true to Jen's previous books, her work could never be predictable.Avery and Cam were such an enjoyable duo to read about. Their relationship is feisty, funny and so very steamy! There's an undeniable attraction between them that slowly builds over time and causes so much tension. Cam really brings out the best in Avery, but unbeknown to Cam, Avery's hiding a dark past that really can threaten everything they've worked for. I also loved the secondary characters too and I'm eager to see more of Cam's sister in the companion novel. In all, Wait for You is a hot and sexy read with a cracking story line and fantastic characters - what more could you want? I loved it and I'd highly suggest you read it!
