Unique Features
I wanted to try a Benchmade knife but they cost a lot. This one popped up in the open box deals so I grabbed it. This model threw a lot of things at me at once (for a knife). It is assisted opening, but you use the thumbstud. Then is snaps open... If you have the safety lock on the back spine off that is. Ok, that's nice, keep it from opening in your pocket. I'll just have to make turning that off part of the opening process. And it does snap open nice and fast and forcefully. The blade locks open and you have to hold back a slider switch on the sides of the knife to close it. I need two hands to do this. That or push it against a surface. Finally the blade ends in an angled flat edge like a putty knife. For prying. It's not sharp, the pry end that is. I like this feature.I'm glade I got this. Benchmade is pretty cool and this knife is different from all the others I have. Make sure you know all the differences before you get this one.Notes:- Pocket clip can be moved to the opposite side of the knife- Sliding button on back spine locks knife closed- Sliding spring button on the sides locks blade open- Needs two hands to close- Spring assisted thumb stud open- Has unique pry bar tip- Comes with a small drawstring bag

Love it
I debated ordering a 591 boost, but I couldn’t be happier! It did have a small burr on the first 1/4” of blade I easily removed with a stone, but that’s my only complaint. It’s lived in my pocket since receiving it. I do my best to keep 9 rental jeeps on the trail, so it’s stripped wires, cut up card board, pryed go pro mounts from bumpers, etc....it’s the best tool I possess for pulling back the red locking tabs on modern electrical connector. I’m glad I decided to go for it; it’s like my snap on wire stripper/crimped, I’d never sell it without already having another in my hand.

Great knife
Useful in more ways that expected

Not the best benchmade.
I really didn't like the axis assist, and the 'stickiness' of the lock. Once it was open and such it's a nice knife, but the mechanics of it just aren't for me.

Disappointed
Extremely disappointed that my Benchmade Boost 590 is very dull. It is not sharp at all for a new knife at this price point. Not a fan of the spring assist mechanics, but the lock is nice. I would have rather have the manual axis like my graptilian that has never been sharpened in 4 years. Bought it sharp and it’s still sharp with daily use on cardboard. This is also a bit on the big side. Takes up all the space in my pocket. I have to used two hands because it’s too large. I’m looking for something else now. Too bad I could not seen this in person I would not spend 162 dollars.
