What weight is this yarn?

Packaging says it's a Medium Worsted Weight which is 4, if you use a number to reflect the weight of yarn. That being said, I have crocheted a baby blanket using this yarn...IT IS SO SOFT!! And I find that I would say Red Heart's Soft Baby Steps is more of a Light Worsted Weight or a 3 in the weight category aka DK yarn...Not to be confused with baby/sport weight/fine = 2 or fingering yarn/extra fine = 1. Really the bottom line is that you will have to feel the yarn with your own hands to determine if SOFT Baby Steps is right for your project and since the yarn is NO DYE LOT, the price is right at Amazon to order 1 skein to check it out for yourself.
