Worked where others wouldn't
I was replacing the A/C clutch on my car. I was able to get the snap ring off which holds the pulley off with regular snap ring pliers. However, I could NOT get the snap ring which holds the field coil off with standard snap ring pliers. The space between the field coil and compressor shaft was so confined/deep I don't see how it could be removed without these. These felt substantial/quality and were not flimsy even when squeezing very hard. My only complaint, and it is with snap ring pliers in general, is that the little tip is relatively short and the snap ring slips off once squeezed a lot. In short, these snap ring pliers saved me a ton of time and likely $1000 because no shop wants to just replace the A/C clutch and instead wants to replace the whole compressor.

Get in deep-set tight spots to remove clips!
I used this pair of extra long retaining ring pliers to get to a DEEPLY SET ring on a brush cutter clutch drum. For about twenty bucks, this tool WORKED and saved me $100 because I replaced one part rather than buying the entire clutch drum assembly for a RedMax brush cutter. However, you should consider this tool as it comes to your door simply RAW MATERIAL ready to be customized, modified, ground down, whatever it takes to get to that tough retaining ring. I ground a considerable amount off of the shafts and the ends in order for the tool to fit inside a very narrow deep housing. Note, this tool is not for removing big tough clips from truck axles--it is for more delicate work like mowers, trimmers, etc.

Good to handle, soft tips.
Used it on Honda CR-V ac compressor to get the back c clip off. The little pins are to small the clip is big and very strong. I got lucky and got the clip out of the groove before the pliers broke. The pliers are made out of mild steel, so they were easy to grind a new tip on. Made it nice to grind new tips on them. If it happens to you make sure the pliers are even in length or they will not work.

This is junk
In my first try to remove a ring the tips bend. This tool is very weak. I was so happy when I discover this and excite to do my plan, now very disappoint

Right shape for ac clutch but broke fist try
These pliers were the right shape for a 2009 Honda Civic AC clutch removal however it broke the first time I tried to get the snap ring off the car has 200 K miles maybe the snap ring is just stuck
