Made from Wood
Love the Rugged Ranch Nesting Box and the girls do too. Just prefer the natural wood to the metal and plastic ones. Always my go to nest box when I get more chickens. : )

very easy to assemble and very durable. I have had mine for 6 months now and just ordered the Duplex to add along with it!

Chickens don't care that it's not perfect
I didn't have high expectations when purchasing this low priced nesting box, which is good because it is low quality. However, it will serve its purpose so I am ok with it. My pieces were not sized properly, or were mislabeled. The walls didn't meet up well so it is a little lopsided and venty. It is not a pretty looking nesting box, but I am sure my chickens won't mind. I gave it 3 stars as I wasn't expecting high quality and it will serve its purpose.

Very good box
I bought this item, and have been using it in my coop for about three months. I found it easy to put together, and it's holding up well. I used it to replace an open top nesting box that my girls were also roosting in at night resulting in a poopy nest, and dirty eggs. I left off the back wall when I put it together so that I could access the eggs through a small egg door on the coop where my existing nest was. Then I just screwed it down through the bottom onto the same supports that the old one was sitting on. After three months it's still sitting firmly in place, the girls aren't roosting inside it, and I have super clean eggs every day. The wood panels are thinner than those on my old box, which is why I only gave it four stars, but I can't fault the sturdiness or durability of it thus far... and in fairness I didn't expect it to match the quality of my custom built coop at this price point. So overall I'm very satisfied with the product and the price.

Poorly cut pieces of cheap wood. You're buying a small woodworking project.
I didn't expect to get a full assembled box, but at the price I expected more than just 6 pieces of poorly pre-cut wood. There's only 1 idea of which direction to place the boards, but outside of that you're left guessing and reassembling to the point that the holes are all stripped and nothing will assemble. In the end, there was no combination of the boards that let it be an even moderately square box. Everything is lopsided. The best I got it was going to leave a 1" gap on either side of the back panel. My small front piece was labeled "F", but per the instructions, there's only "E". The "F" was part of the bigger box. This makes me believe the reason my pieces weren't aligning was they gave me a board that was wrong.Basically, you're paying for a few pre-cut pieces of low quality plywood. It's up to you to figure out how to assemble it decently. If your boards are sized properly, I definitely recommend to use wood glue on the joints since the screws don't really grab well in the low quality plywood they give.

Too cheap of wood to even assemble
These boxes never got assembled because the wood was so flimsy and cut so small that the screw holes were too close to the edges. Maybe if I had an electric screwdriver, but even then they were so flimsy, one false move and the whole thing would come apart and be ruined. I might let my contractor friend have a go at it with his tools and skills, but as a regular person with just a screwdriver and one set of hands...no. Cheaply made.

Small box
Hard to assemble. Screws keep coming out the sides. Not all holes predrilled. Panels should be labled! But it does work

Too Small for chickens
Easy to build (with kids) except they are way too small for actual chickens. Our chickens just started laying and they crush their eggs going in and out of the box. I now have to replace all the boxes I ordered, because my chickens are older and bigger.
