Makes an OWC Aura Pro X NVMe drive bootable on a Mac Pro 2009
This is the only card I could find that would potentially let me reuse an OWC NVMe I bought a couple of years ago in my Mac Pro. My cMP is a 4,1 flashed to 5,1 and then to the 144 boot rom, which supports NVMe boot. For the price, I didn't expect much from this adapter but sure enough after decrypting the NVMe & choosing it as the boot drive in Mojave it boots & is now the system drive! This is an older Aura Pro X so the speed is only about 1000mbs read/write but still this was a huge upgrade for this 11 year old computer!

Great Board. Bad Bracket
For what it's worth 15 bucks ain't bad... bracket is tooled wrong and doesn't fit the specs of the case. But if ur a techy you probably upgraded ur apple SSD long ago... and now it just collects dust.... new NVME drive for my server.... don't mind if I do...

Works in a Mac Pro 5.1
It works on Mac Pro 5.1... I had to format my original 2013 Mac Pro drive to exFat prior to it working right. Good speed and nice to make use of another hard drive.

Its alright but Id suggest something else.
It works, however everytime something is read on my Apple SSD I hear coil whine. The SSD should be dead silent. Never did this before in my Macbook.
