Gotu Kola & Raspberry Seed Oil Pre-Swim Leave-In Protection

It works great and smells good. My hair doesn’t smell like chlorine when I use it. Only one problem… my swim cap comes right off because of the conditioner. I’m going to try to only put it on my ends.

Pre-swim protection works very well and protects my hair from the effects of chlorine. It's oily, but I'd rather have oily hair than chlorine-damaged hair. My concern is their use of palm oil and the countries from which it is sourced. I do not buy anything that uses palm oil that's sourced from Southeast Asia because palm oil plantations from that region are rapidly leading to the eventual extinction of orangutans. I also don't trust the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil certification, as it is an industry-funded marketing organization that claims that palm oil from Southeast Asia can be sustainable, and Greenpeace states that no palm oil from Southeast Asia is sustainable. Shea Moisture also sells red palm oil, and I will have to do more research on that. It sounds like their palm oil is sourced from West Africa, which is not indigenous to orangutans. So I changed my 3-star to 5-star for now, though I have more research to do. Palm oil is a fractionated oil, they do not have to go through the hydrogenation process. Palm oils will be listed in the ingredients of the product when present. It worked well. I didn't have a hard time getting the hydration back to my hair after swimming and that was exactly what I was looking for. Not sure if I couldn't have gotten the same effect by using plain conditioner. I like the smell even though other reviews complained about the smell.

I always bring conditioner and a comb to the beach because salt water does a number on my curly hair. Every time I get out of the water, I comb conditioner through my hair. Ideally then, the conditioner would include sun protectant -- but that is SO hard to find without silicones. Voila SheaMoisture! Love how this product conditions and protects without silicone.

I really like this product. It protects my hair and makes it alot more manageable after it gets wet from swimming. Smells amazing as well. I put a generous amount of the product on my hair immediately before i put the swim cap on and do my laps in the pool. My hair is drenched after laps but easy to put a comb through and manipulate it until i can get home to wash it. Will definitely continue to purchase and use as long as I swim laps in the pool.

This product seems to do the job....the job of keeping chlorine out of my hair! In the old days my wife would always smell chlorine in my hair after swimming, even after showering, shampooing and conditioning. This went away when I started using this stuff. Recommend!

Use to swim often but I haven’t in years. I got this for my recently colored hair. And my hair loooooves it. I will be getting more.
