Best inexpensive automatics.
I was looking for a Japanese made Seiko 5 because I was curious if there were any differences compared to the Malaysian made Seiko. The only difference I can find is it has Japan stamped on the dial, movement, and bracelet. Still, a very nice watch. Watch case has a high polish. The bracelet seems a bit light weight but I'm sure it will hold up. The bracelet is very comparable to those found on Citizen's. It is large enough to accommodate most wrists. It's easy to adjust, just find a video on Youtube. Watch came in a Seiko box with all factory paperwork/manual. Warranty card is in Japanese. I have yet to unwrap the owners manual. As with other Seiko 5's, it's simple to set and wind, and it maintains great time. If a potential buyer is not willing to take the time to make sure they are winding the watch, then don't buy an automatic. Any automatic will eventually stop if you don't maintain a wind on it. A great watch that I would def recommend to anyone interested in automatics.

I have always loved seiko watches for the quality and own a few
I have always loved seiko watches for the quality and own a few. I bought this one to wear everyday and love the simple time, day, and date format. I have had it for a couple weeks now and it keeps perfect time. I did replace the band with a black leather one. Just my preference. Perfect for work or dress. Very nice watch.

Seiko Japanese made?? Don't do it. I was taken.
I love this watch. Precision instrument. Much value for price. Styling that I find to be very attractive.8 months later; a complete disappointment. Watch has ceased functioning dependably. I now have the annoying and difficult task of trying to get the service offered under the warrantee.I just recieved a email from this vendor. They reference something about needing to be a authorized Seiko dealer and Amazon sales. Bottom line they say no warantee. I am out of luck. I cannot be certain that this is even a real Japanese made Seiko. Who knows where it really came from. Don't buy from this vendor. They don't stand behind their products.

Made in Japan
I bought this watch last October. The shipping was correct, taking about 10-12 days to get from Japan to Spain. This is a good clock made in japan; a Seiko 5 with caliber 7S26, It could come with best accurate. Although we know that Seiko does not adjust this parameter makes Swiss clock's.Size diameter of 38 mm, even dress watch Seiko armys equally Made in Japan, it is this aspect that the Japanese company can and should improve. The armys of their watches, which seem flimsy.Attention to customs, that I had to pay. All shipments from Japan go through customs. The seller is attentive to my requests.Advantages: value for money, nice, rear pool.Disadvantages: accuracy (and that comes from Japan) and armys. In summary, I recommend this watch and your purchase if you are not very demanding, and to use it in day to day.EDIT:December 24Accuracy improved to months. The delay is one minute per week. Good for Seiko 5.

Fantastic watch. Made one adjustment on timegrapher and watch ...
Fantastic watch. Made one adjustment on timegrapher and watch is running within 2 or 3 seconds per 24 hrs. Got one for my son as well. Great quality at a great price. Lume is my only gripe. Everyone should have a Seiko 5 at some time in there life. Exibition caseback is classy. Dress it up with a nato strap or dress it WAY UP with a nice leather band. Work, play or business.

SEIKO 100% JAPANESE MADE, CHINESE MADE THE BOX / UPDATED: After 2 years, it stops working. What should i do?
After 2 years, it stops working. What should i do? I adjusted it down to 2 stars.**************************************************************************************I just got this watch today. At first! I disappointed when saw the box cover "Made in China" and then I saw the box also "Made in China" I really disappoint and about to return it without open the box. My opinion, Chinese made is junk. However, for curious, I opened the box and exam the watch. It is 100% Japanese Made. The buyer be aware! The watch is 100% Japanese made, Chinese made just the box and the box cover. I don't really understand why Seiko didn't want make the box in Japan. If the box was made in Japan, I would keep it. However, the watch is 100% Japanese made and I am okay with it.The watch is beauty and not too big! It reminds me my childhood time and now I can listen to the "tick-tack, tick-tack" sound. I am happy with it. For the fairness, it should be rated 5 Stars because I don't really care the box.Don't forget Amazon has a lot of SEIKO 5 watches, but they are not the same as this one. Those are made some parts from Japan, and most parts from China or else where. They are not the same pride. This is the reason why I don't have the watch for so many years until today.UPDATE: I worn it and have a long shower last night and YES, WATER RESISTANT. I also noticed the accuracy, YES, IT IS VERY ACCURACY for at least 18 hours. Of course, it will never can be accuracy like quart movement. I like the traditional kinetic design, it is an art.

Great first automatic.
I like this watch. This is my first automatic. After I was able to adjust the band and remove a link to size, it fits great and is very comfortable. Not to massive to prevent your hand from going through a coat sleeve, or pants pocket. Easy to read in the dark, and brighter in the dark than my more expensive Akribos. The owners manual was pretty clear. The illumination on the dial and hands are bright, but needs to be close to a good light source(has been cast over since I got it). Lot of online info and videos on seiko watches, regarding care and adjustment. I can't wait to get a nicer one. I considered getting a different band before I got this, but since wearing it, the original band is pretty nice and comfy, and easy to get on and off. I have since gotten an Orient 3 star automatic, and the differences are noticeable, but the Seiko is a more expensive watch.
