So easy, a millennial can do it!
Millennial lady here with zero plumbing experience! This trap was SUPER EASY to install by myself (with some YouTube). ZERO leaks! The old trap under my sink started leaking after I had to replace my sink drain, and I couldn't get it to reseal where the water rests above the joint. Honestly, since it was just plastic, I have no idea how it held a seal in the first place. According to the videos I was following, the plastic-only connection was normal, and it's just a matter of getting it aligned perfectly, but it just wasn't working for me. I even tried using teflon tape, but I couldn't get a seal. So, since my trap was old, I decided to see if there were better options, and that's when I found this trap. This one actually uses rubber gasket for all connections, creating a better seal! I installed it, and it worked FIRST TRY! No leaks, none! I even bought a little water-detector for under my sink because I didn't trust myself, and it hasn't gone off.Thank you for putting a little extra care into the design of this trap! Excited to do my other bathrooms now.

Solved problem: sink drain too high to install strainer with DW tailpiece using regular p-trap
Just what I needed! I was installing are drains/strainers in a client's kitchen sink. I needed a tailpiece with a dishwasher hose port. The problem was that the in-wall drain assembly was roughed-in higher than I wouldve liked. The new strainer was a little deeper than the original which meant that my ptrap ended up being too low to connect to the existing drain assembly. My options were to get a different, ultra short strainer, or try to find a reversible p-trap. I never knew anyone made Reversible p-traps until I ran into this situation.Since it is designed and advertised for this purpose, I was confident about reversing the j-bend during my install. Everything went together great and I had it all together in minutes with no leaks. If you do reverse the j-bend like I did, you'll need to be very accurate about where you cut your tailpiece. There is only about 1/4" to 3/8" engagement on the tailpiece to j-bend insertion. In fact thats the only critique I have is that I wish there was a bit more room for insertion...but the geometry of the piece may not make that possible. Still it solved my problem of trying to deal with too high of a rough-in.I wouldnt recommend trying to reverse a normal p-trap j-bend. It isnt intended for that purpose and the nuts and seals are not oriented for that purpose. This one is. And it is cheap too!Great product!

Watch the 63-second install video
You donโt use the rubber washers at every connection, the J-bend to wall tube connection is plastic on plastic. Tighten this one first while the other connections are loose, making sure the parts meet square.Great replacement for an accordion clog catcher.

Worked for me
My p-trap finally rusted out in my kitchen and being that it's in an area enclosed by cupboard doors I thought I would get this one instead of another metal one.It seems that the metal ones being widely sold are becoming thinner and thinner even when they advertise as a thicker grade and they are rusting out quite quickly for people - so I'm trying this is an alternative.I was able to attach it to the metal pipes and it all worked out although I could not add the washer on one side because it would not thread closed all the way. Both sides are adequately closed though and not leaking so it all worked out for me.It's affordable and seems like it may be a better alternative these days if you have a closed sink area. Give it a try!

Good Trap for the price with high quality seals
This kitchen trap is good quality, the seals provided are better than what typically comes with P Traps. The threads have a much tighter grip and the joints fit tightly. I noticed the listing stated that it was reversible. I would assume they are referring to rotating the trap, where the deep portion now faces the drain. With modern deep sinks the old drain is often too high on the wall to work with a trap installed as per standards. With most PVC P traps reversing the trap would either lead to it falling apart if it gets bumped, or a leak. The fittings on this trap along with the seals do appear it would hold well if placed this way, just in the event you are in this position. Of course you have other options that require more work, such as lowering the existing drain or making your own trap PVC trap and using a fernco rubber metal shielded union to mount it at the wall to allow for future service. If you wanted to avoid the extra work this p trap would be a great option and if you are using it as a standard install, don't hesitate it is a high quality product. With modern appliances such as deep sinks it is not uncommon to overlook the current drain height on the wall.
