Close to a perfect water bottle.
Fantastic water bottle. The plastic isn't flimsy. It's pretty solid. The roller stays firm and doesn't leak water. It has a HUGE wide mouth for filling. We used Kaytee glass water bottles before this, and those things are absolute garbage. We bought 2 and ended up taking them back over the time we owned them to get replacements due to failure.(Mini Kaytee Bottle Review)The seals on the Kaytee bottle are horrendous (we've gone through 3 extra seals so far) as well as popping out when you're unscrewing the tops.If you don't reseat the seals correctly, you end up tearing them to shreds when you put the top back on.The metal tube isn't fixed and can be pulled out. If you don't jam it back in there well, it leaks.I mean I LOVED the glass bottles, but it's not worth the price or the heartache. The Lixit water bottle didn't have any of those problems. At all.The only thing the Kaytee has over the Lixit is glass vs plastic, and that's nowhere near enough to give them my business again.Final verdict? Would definitely buy this bottle again.

The ONLY water bottle I will buy for my piggies
I have tried several types over the past 3 years and this one is the best. Water bottles are going to leak, because they have to get water out for the animal to drink. However, if you use cold water, fill until it's full and tighten well it will work exceptionally well. I put a small fleece square under it because it's inevitable that they are going to make a mess, that's just what they do!Even a guinea pig sanctuary local to me only uses this type of water bottle. It's sometimes hard to see if it's low because it's not completely clear but in decent light you can see the level. That's really my only complaint. It's such a great bottle. I use a q-tip to clean the nozzle and a paper towel with a butter knife to wipe the bottle. Soaking may help too but I don't have time for that.

Leakage but good quality
I bought this for my guinea pig after trying many different types of bottles and this is the best one. Water doesn’t get dirty and I can refill as needed. Only thing is that it leaks when it’s upright. I tested a few different angles. If you lay it horizontally with the nozzle facing down, as in the picture, it won’t constantly drip. Good quality.

Leaking after a few months
Worked well for the first few months, then noticed puddles forming underneath. I tightened the lid and tried everything, but it seems that this bottle starts to leak after a few months.

Leak proof and easy to clean
We have two of the 32oz bottles and this 16oz bottle for our guinea pigs. I love that the opening is wide enough that it's easy to clean the inside of the bottle, unlike other styles of small pet water bottles. We haven't had any issues with leaks, and all the pigs seem to be happy enough to drink from them. Would buy again.

Better than most
I personally have come to the conclusion that there’s no such thing as a leak-proof guinea pig water bottle that the average guinea can still get water from. However, this is the closest I’ve found. After it’s been refilled, there’s some leaking when it’s first put back in its holder, but once it’s set up, I haven’t seen it leak. That being said, my guinea seems to be a sloppy drinker! I know this, because I used to have another guinea who wasn’t. His cage was consistently dry, hers was consistently soaked. They had identical water bottles, but thinking one might be defective, I switched them. Again, his cage was dry, hers was soaked. I’ve watched her drink from this particular bottle, and a surprising amount of water “misses” her mouth in the process. It appears to be partly due to the fact that she tends to drink from the side of her mouth. I believe there’s going to be some dripping with most guineas while drinking, but she’s definitely got more of an issue with it than most. I’ve tried various set-ups, but the one that has worked best in our case is this bottle with a kennel dish that attaches to the side of the cage right below it. I empty the dish each morning, refill the bottle, and we’re good to go. She can drink from the bowl if she chooses, but she always has clean water available in the bottle. I also like this bottle in this setup because it’s plastic, so won’t break, and the wire hanger keeps it securely attached to the cage, and keeps its position steady when she pulls on it to drink.

This bottle absolutely does not leak! I bought the fancy glass one and would leak half a bottle a day. This one doesn’t leak at all! Great product!

Very leaky
I bought two of these but have only used one. My pups won't drink from it and it leaks all over the puppy pen as soon as the ball is touched. I have now purchased a non leak bottle, which suggests that this is an issue with these bottles. Very disappointed.
