Asus Google Nexus 7 Screen Protector - Tempered Glass - Package Includes Microfiber Cleaning Wipe, Installation Tips with Video - Retail Packaging - by TruShield

Having never used a glass protector on my devices before, I figured I would take the plunge with my Nexus 7 2013. I was pretty sick of my fingers getting stuck on the screen, and missed the smooth experience of glass, so I went ahead and ordered the TruShield protector. It arrived very quickly, and was packaged extremely well. The plastic packaging was securely sealed, and showed no signs of abuse during transit. The instructions as displayed in the packaging were about as straightforward as they come; clean your screen of all dust and smudges (using the included alcohol wipe and microfiber cloth), remove the backing adhesive of the screen protector and place on the device. I elected to remove about half of the adhesive protector and line up the glass on the top half of my Nexus. It fits around the camera and light sensor perfectly, and when centered on the device, leaves about 5 mm between the edge of the screen and the straight cut edge of the glass. I was a little upset it didn't sit flush with the entire screen, but figured that manufacturing to those types of tolerances would have increased the cost of the screen protector exponentially. Similarly, I find myself wishing the front face of the glass had chamfered/rounded edges, but that would have added cost. Once I removed the remaining adhesive and pressed the protector onto the device, about 90% of the air bubbles resolved themselves immediately. There were a few lingering spots where air was trapped between the two, but after letting the protector settle for an hour or so, I was able to push them out with my finger no problem. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get the outer edges of the protector to adhere 100%. In truth, it's about a 5 mm outline at the edge, but it bugs me nonetheless. Perhaps with some more effort and patience, I can get the whole thing to adhere. Not a deal breaker by any means. Having used the protector on my device for a few days now, I can say I love the feeling of using my Nexus again! It's restored a tangible measure of quality and premium feel to the device, and the fitment is very acceptable for the price! Overall, I am very pleased with the TruShield Screen Protector for my Nexus 7. It provides excellent, high quality protection at a very reasonable cost, and the installation process was very simple - a much easier experience than I've encountered with any alternative plastic-based protector. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking to protect the screen of their Nexus 7. Pros: - Cheap - Feels great to use - Excellent protection - Very easy to apply - Ships quick Cons: - Lack of rounded edges on face of glass can create a "sharp" feeling - Some lack of adhesion around the very outer edges of the screen - Not "perfect" coverage (but 99%)

This appears to be a quality screen protector. The package comes with alcohol wipe, microfiber wipe, and adhesive dust lifter to thoroughly clean the screen. The installation video is helpful. It installed almost perfectly, but one corner failed to adhere. Either the screen is a little low in that corner or the screen protector is warped a little. I can't speak to the longevity of the screen protector as I have just put it on, but other tempered glass screen savers I have used have held up great.

This is one big tempered glass screen protector. I was initially a bit concerned, since it's of a much larger size than that of a phone, but when I received it, I was relieved to see that it was packaged not in a cardboard sleeve, but a hard plastic one. Nice. It was in perfect shape. These things are so easy to apply. Unless you're not taking your time, like me. Let me explain. This comes with an alcohol wipe to clean your screen before applying the protector. Mine was a bit dry, I must say, but I have some lens cleaning wipes (alcohol based), and I used one of them. Perfect! Not. I believe I missed a bit of the lower left hand corner when I wiped. I followed that with the supplied microfiber cloth. No dust at all. So far so good...except, for that darn corner. Application was easy-ish... getting centered and square is fun on a screen as big as a 2013 Nexus 7. It went on fine. Worked a bubble out of the center no problem. No dust bubbles, perfect - except for that corner section. It wont adhere cleanly (unless I put my finger right on it). I'm pretty certain this is user error. The rest of the protector is on there and perfectly clear. The corner section is thankfully far outside of the screen itself. So I'm not kicking myself too hard (My phone has a glass screen protector too, and I did exactly the same thing except it's on both the left and right bottom corners, also outside of the screen area :) ) I guess the lesson is: take a little more time to clean that screen, especially if you are replacing another type of screen protector with tempered glass! So, my impatience notwithstanding, this is a fine tempered glass screen protector. It is perfectly clear, and as responsive to touch and swipe as naked glass screen. I replaced an anti-glare plastic deal with this, because it just wasn't as responsive as it should be. That was part of the application problem I think (whatever the sticky stuff they put on those wasn't completely removed in that corner), but in the end, this is so much better, so clear and responsive, that I'm loving my Nexus 7 again. That's why I'm giving this a solid 5 stars. Great product. Just take your time.

Terrible product. It will not stick down on corners.
