Works fine for our needs
We use this pitcher for cold brewed iced tea, and Yes it is safe. If it is BPA free, it's safe. Questioning it's safety reflects another reviewer's preferences. The pitcher and handle are sturdy for 83 oz. A larger one would be quite heavy and may need two hands to carry. We appreciated the dimensions in the description so we knew it would fit on the top shelf in the fridge. It didn't stain after a week in the fridge with iced tea. Note: we always use a little Oil-Eater degreaser to clean any containers (cups, pitcher,s etc) that are used for coffee & tea. Any stain sort of melts away. The lid might have stained, but the degreaser took care of it.I took off a star for a few small reasons. The lid could be little taller to prevent spills and have two pour spouts, one open and one for straining out ice. We're careful and haven't spilled, so it hasn't been a big issue. Also, the measurement markings are in milliliters, not ounces that would be more useful for users in the US. The measurement markers are on the opposite side to be useful for right-handed users. They would be good if you are left-handed.

I like the capacity most of all. I can make tea 2 quarts at a time when I’m running low and it fits in the pitcher.

has a 'space' between lid and spout - i do love the size and seems nice quality otherwise
when you attach the lid - there is a space in the bottom of the spout. i use this for a COMPOST holder for fruit and veggie scraps before i take them to my compost .......... DON'T LIKE the space as flies can come and go. i do like the size of this item - as it sits in my sink waiting for me to fill it up. i will be searching for an alternative.

Good pitcher for making iced tea
Good quality, should work well for making tea. Is made from polypropylene (which a search says is BPA free).Arrived with minimal packaging; the only label was a sticker on the base, which peeled off easily. The pitcher does have volume markings, but only in ml (goes up to 2400ml). I wish it was also labelled for oz/qt, but I can still work with what it has.

A quite functional pitcher. Only weakness is that the amount of fill markings are difficult to read.
