BH02043 Suffolk Style Gate Latch, 7.1/8" - Black

I've fitted several of these over the years all previously bought from DIY stores and these are the same in terms of style and thickness of metal. Although they're claimed to be heavy duty they are lightweight and suitable only for indoor use - they will rust and won't take much strain before bending.That said this type is all that was needed so I took a chance and bought the two needed, which came with 1" screws. One item was okay but the other hadn't been made properly. The slotted bracket through which the bar should pass was too narrow and only one of the screw holes was punched out. Got an immediate refund from Amazon which was good but I'm still one handle short.Won't buy these again online - better to traipse to the DIY store and examine the items first.

Simple and does the job fine. Please be aware that mine arrived sealed in a heavy duty polythene bag complete with 12 x 1" black screws. I would have scored 5*'s but wasted a further £3.59 for a pack of 18 screws because of other reviewers feedback. Obviously the manufacturer has looked at, and addressed, the fixings issue and just a shame this hasn't been updated in the product details,

Really disappointing. It feels thin and cheap. Definitely would not describe it as heavy duty. It was so irritating I went to a DIY shop and bought one where I could actually see the quality before buying.

Good looking kit with one drawback. The kit did not supply screws.Therefore you must purchase the screws yourself. You require 12 screws for thekit, making the job price dearer. Can I suggest that the kit contains screws.

Be aware this doesnt come with fixings, I appreciate it isnt the most expensive item in the world but a 'heads up' might be in order in the description. It is a 40 mile round trip to my nearest DIY store, hence the reason I bought this online. I now have to wait 3-4 days for some screws.

I mean... yep, does what it says on the tin. Even had a few bits stuck/bent which is authentic to how they are if you buy them from an ironmongers, and easily fixed without any damage.

Does what it says. Doesn't come with any screws which the one in Wicks did so that was a bit annoying. How much effort would it take to come with screws.

It did the job, but is very cheap! Not heavy duty, and as per other reviews stated has bent easily. Also all the screw heads have rusted within a few months. Definitely get down your local DIY shop and spend the extra few quid!

Bought these but was not too impressed about the description - "Medium to Light" would be a better description.

Cheap for a reason, product arrived bent due to the metal being flimsy, straightened and fitted, used own screws as provided ones very thin

Did the job, but point of note, the side latch is not in the pack, didn't realise when ordering. Used existing latch

Extremely thin steel, I do not expect this to last a month. I have put it on the gate as I needed something to put on urgently, but I will be replacing this very soon.

Works well, although the latch is difficult to get in, but ran a file through it a few times and worked a treat.

A bit lightweight and keep too shallow. Otherwise ok
