Works as designed.
I purchased this to be able to dry 2 rolls of filament for my 3D printers. This is especially important for the PETG that I use as well as the PLA, I do not use ABS. As stated in the "About this Item" information on the Amazon site, it cycles back and forth between the Temp/Humidity and drying time. The first time that I turned this on I was quite concerned because I could smell the electrical smell. I turned it off and checked it out to make certain it was ok. I think that it was just getting rid of that "new" smell. I turned it on again and programmed it for 6 hours of drying time. The "Work" was showing on the unit, but it shut off after 6 minutes. So I tried it again, and it seems to be working ok now. There is just a simple small piece of paper for the instructions. Most filament dryers are fairly intuitive and this is one pretty ease to understand as well. You are able to use the filament direct from the dryer to your 3D printer, but I don't do that. The unit is lightweight coming in a 3.65 lbs. I had nice sized footprint 9.69x 6.89 x 9.53". I have the white model and I feel it looks nice. I'm pretty happy with this purchase. I hadn't thought of placing the desiccants into the dryer with the filament. I like that idea as well. When the time is completed, it emits a loud beep telling you it is done. That is a nice feature as well. It is extremely quiet and I don't even notice it is on.

Nice item to have.
Holds 2 rolls of filament. Has 2 ports per roll of filament to route the filament either out the front or top of the lid. I used 2 bowden tube holders that I had to help hold the bowden tube. I have found that just keeping the filament in the dryer help to keep it dry. So much that I rarely use the heater function. However, when I have, I have noticed that the desk where the dryer sits gets very warm to the touch. I found a file on MakerWorld that is raises the dryer an or inch or so.

Good dryer and made my print quality much better.
Started with 3d printing not to long ago and had allot of issues with stringing using PLA filament. Filament was brand new in the plastic but still stringing bad. After reading some recommendations and reviews on Youtube I settled on this dryer. It made a Huge difference with very little stringing, if any depending on the print. The only issue I have had is that a roll of my filament unwound a bit and was laying on the bottom of the dryer, where the heater is. That melted the filament and bit and I had to cut it off. Also, leave the dryer lid cracked open when you are drying with it. There are little tabs that can keep it open (the locking tabs) and shut it when not in use to keep moisture out. Overall I am happy with both the price and results. Gave it a 4 stars only because of the filament melting issue that was likely my fault anyway, and because the temp doesn't get hot enough for some more exotic filaments I would like to try.

Sovol SH01 Dual Filament Dryer – A Solid Upgrade
The Sovol SH01 dual filament dryer is a great addition to any 3D printing setup, especially if you're working with multiple printers or moisture-sensitive materials. I previously used a Sunlu S1 dryer, which did the job, but after adding a second printer to my setup, I wanted a solution that could keep up. While a dual dryer isn’t strictly necessary if you primarily print PLA, it becomes very helpful if you regularly print with materials like PETG or TPU—as I do—especially when printing on both machines simultaneously. One of the most surprising things about the SH01 is how quiet it is. I’ve seen a number of reviews claiming it’s loud, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. It’s quieter than both of my printers and significantly quieter than my old Sunlu dryer. There's a faint fan noise, but it's comparable to a laptop fan at idle—barely noticeable. In terms of features, Sovol packed a lot of thoughtful touches into this unit. It includes built-in roller bearings for smooth filament feeding, a hygrometer to monitor humidity levels, and a simple control interface with temperature and timer settings. Compared to the Sunlu (which has fewer controls), the Sovol is more user-friendly when it comes to dialing in your desired settings. The polycarbonate cover has four filament feed openings—two on top for direct drive setups and two on the front for Bowden-style printers. These openings are necessary to let moisture escape and bring humidity down effectively. They come with gasket covers, though I find them more optional than essential. I usually leave them open during use and close them in between to help maintain low humidity levels. It does take a bit of time to heat up—expect around 20 minutes to reach 50°C due to the slightly larger internal volume. But for longer drying sessions (6+ hours), that warm-up time is negligible. In my own testing, I saw the relative humidity drop from 30% to 23% in the first hour and below 20% after about 8 hours. If I had one small request, it would be an additional front opening that allows for quick access—something that doesn’t require threading filament through it. Sometimes I start a print with filament in the dryer, then move it to a printer-mounted spool mid-print, and a quick-access opening would make that easier. It’s a minor inconvenience and likely irrelevant for most dual-dryer users, but worth noting. Final Verdict: The Sovol SH01 is a quiet, efficient, and well-designed filament dryer—especially great for setups using multiple materials or printers. It outperforms my Sunlu S1 in both usability and performance, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to level up their print quality.

Affordable, compact, simple dryer
I already own a couple large 4 slot dryers, including the awesome Sovol SH03, and I wanted a smaller, more affordable dryer to sit between my printers to print from. This little guy fits the bill perfectly. Came packed like it was ready to be air dropped. Build quality was a lot better than I expected for this price point. Has nice latches and a good seal for the lid. Basic user interface, you select 40, 45, or 50c, and time between 6 and 48 hours in 1 hour increments. Only getting to 50c means it's drying is really focused on PLA or PETG, but it should work flawlessly to keep my already dry TPU, PA and the like fresh while printing without dragging a big dryer around. Oh, and the spool rollers are crazy smooth. Small ding for not having a filament port that isn't on the lid, but it's a minor thing.

Works pretty well, but the 8-hour time limit is a deal-breaker.
Bought this unit a year ago (June 2023), along with a Sunlu single-spool model, to see which was better. Both purchases were from Amazon, with fast delivery. After a year of use, I can say the Sovol does its basic job well, and is better than having no filament dryer at all, especially since I live in a high-humidity coastal South Carolina county. But there are two drawbacks that mean I won't buy another: First drawback is the 8-hour timer limit: If you don't add additional time before the eight hours are up, it cuts off and stops drying. Most users print jobs that take more than eight hours, sometimes days. I consider this a deal-breaker for most users, since other competitors out there offer much longer time possibilities. Why the short time-span? It couldn't increase the manufacturing cost to give the end users a longer time option. Second is the quality of construction: The spooling isn't as smooth as it should be, and the construction seems cheap and rickety. The idea of having one unit to condition two spools is tempting, but the actual process isn't always smooth, especially if one or both spools are the smaller size. Ended up 3D-printing some spacers to help cut down on tangling and hang-ups. One of the small top eyelets fell out while unboxing, and had since become lost. Tightening the top eyelets is an awkward process, and they don't stay tight long. Not really sure why these eyelets weren't just permanently built in. Bottom line after a year of use: check some competitor reviews first, and unbox carefully in case you need to return it.

If you know what's happening, this is a great buy
Firstly, I haven't had the unit long, so I can't speak to it's durability. Secondly, I should have given it 4 stars, but the price brings it to 5 stars. I can confirm that it holds 2 rolls of filanenton sliding rods, so there's smoth roll of filament spools there. I'm convinced that it will hold 2kg spools as well and maybe even 3kg, but I don't have any so I can't test this, but this is a rarity for well priced filament dryers. I can confirm that the instructions are poor, but it's so easy to use that it doesn't even matter, press the mide button to cycle between temp and time settings and the up arrow to adjust each, mode button to start, and you will know when it does. It's quiet but I'm happy I can hear it. Here's the thing... when it heats the air in the chamber, airborne humidity will cause condensation on the colder side of the transparent cover abd the filament will release its own moisture to equalize the perceived humidity. But if you don't open that cover occasionally and wipe off that condensation and let out some moist air, the effect will plateau and never get good results (even with 4 or 5 desiccant packs in there. The idea is to look at the display every half hour or so (while at full temp) and see it the humidity is stagnant, open the unit to wipe the interior and let out moist air and the humidity will fall off of a cliff, forcing the filament to release more of its own moisture to equalize the environment.... this also significantly decreases drying time... I've gotten PETG down to 24% in a town that has just below jungle level humidity (fairly easily). I honestly think that this procedure will work just fine on filaments that say that tgey require drying at 60 or 70 degrees. But I do find that things work better of spools that are perforated and not solid (and that makes sense). I like it

Slow and bare-bones but it works
I wanted a filament dryer to reduce stringing when I print with TPU. I don't use TPU very often and rarely need a dryer so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. As usual, I want something that works reasonably well and costs almost nothing. This dryer does both. The controls are as basic as it gets. You can set the temperature to 40, 45, or 50 deg. C and the time to... whatever. I don't remember and don't care enough to look. All I can say is that it will dry TPU. Eventually. Yep, it's relatively slow. You better know at least a couple of hours in advance that you want to print with TPU because it's going to take a while. This is expected and normal. You just have to plan ahead. I'm docking this thing a star because the user interface is a bit frustrating to use. You can figure it out in a minute or so but it's still clunky. Also, despite the fact that the dryer has sealed ports to feed the filament through, in my case it added so much drag that my extruder wouldn't feed correctly. I end up drying the filament and then removing it from the dryer for the print. Once I'm done, the filament goes back in the dryer. Not the most convenient way to do it but it works. The end result is that I get pretty good TPU prints with minimal effort. Just remember to dry the filament, hang it on the machine, and press go. Maybe someday I'll build a dry-box with desiccant beads in it to keep my TPU dry all the time, but for now this dryer works fine. If you do a lot of 3D printing with hygroscopic materials, I recommend a more feature-rich dryer. However, if you're a tinkerer like me who rarely prints with filaments that need to be dried, this one will work fine to start.
