DOA both times I’ve received it.
First time I’ve received this hard drive it was DOA, since Amazon shipped it in a plastic bag, yes, not even box with some sort of protection but just dropped the hard drive into a plastic bag, stick a label and shipped it. Guess what? The hard drive arrived with the broken plastic connector on the motherboard. I’ve sent it back for replacement. Second time they shipped exactly the same way in the same kind of bag without any kind of protection. This time it was kind of OK, until after I installed it in my Unifi Dream Machine Pro (for surveillance system). After I powered it on, right on the screen I got an error message that system couldn’t boot up. I shut it down, pulled the hard drive and it was very hot. Then I let it cool down and tried it on my desktop computer. As soon as I powered up computer the hard drive started making continuous knocking noise. Like the actuator arm was slapping something.Hitachi was the most trusted and reliable brand for me, never had any issues with their hard drives, I’m still using old ones in my desktop PC, surveillance and portable drive for many years. I believe it’s all because of inappropriate shipping, without any kind of shock proof protection.

Needed for extra storage.. months later drive is failing due to bad blocks
Update: drive is noisy and has bad blocks.Hard drives works as intended. At first the 4TB didn't show up, but that was a compatibility issue with the USB port that my docking station is plugged into.Read the enclosed documentation which i did after I figured it out.1. Make sure disk is set to use GPT.2. The drive will NOT show 4TB if using USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 Gen2.When I plugged it into USB 3.2 Gen1 it came up showing the full capacity. The USB generation naming drives me crazy!

and didn't pass the quick SMART test. The remaining 2 drives are quite loud ...
2 out of 4 HDDs came non-functioning.One drive wouldn't start at all. It spin ups and then starts to scape badlySecond was making a lot of ticking noise, would recalibrate all the time, and didn't pass the quick SMART test. The remaining 2 drives are quite loud and make a lot of ticking sounds in comparison to some WD, Samsung and Toshiba drives I have

Dead on arrival
I was greeted with a horrible clicking noise when I first plugged it in. It would not initialize. Says recertified June 2020. Complete joke.
