Pro Moth traps work really well.
I have bought these Moth Traps for over two years now to try to eliminate a chronic moth infestation. The traps work really well in enticing and trapping (Male) moths for up to two months. Over time there will be less and less (Male) moths trapped. However, it’s a good idea to keep using the traps in case more moths enter the home and start the infestation all over again. I can really recommend Pro Moth Traps.

A catch all - updated
Update: these do catch clothes moths, but not many and I suspect my other methods of using a spider vacuum, fly spray, sticky fly tape and moth killer sachets and sprays is having an impact as well. I have caught clothes moths in ‘hot spots’ where I have also seen them flying and where my manual extraction for release outside (well away from the house) has also been most fruitful. I imagine it is mainly the male moth, but I don’t know how to tell the male and female moths apart and the indiscriminate nature of these traps, which still catch other insects, means females might also have been trapped. When I first identified clothes moths in my rented house, soon after arrival, they had not been treated by the previous homeowners and I caught 25 in just one evening. I have become more of an expert in the last few months and know where to find them and do a sweep of the house in the morning and evening, still catching an average of maybe 30 per week, which is far fewer than my initial haul, but still high despite all of the measures I have in place.I don’t feel I have yet found the perfect product or products for dealing with these moths, but the situation is being controlled to ensure the 25 caught in one evening has not burgeoned further. The sticky traps do catch clothes moths and help you to see there is an issue perhaps before it gets out of hand and may also help to eliminate male moths and thus reduce the potential for more to arrive, but I don’t think they will resolve the issue on their own and, when you have precious woollen items, you may wish to just throw everything at the problem, of which this is one component and a helpful monitoring one that gives a visual indication of the presence of moths before you might otherwise have seen them.I have purchased many packs now.************************************** original review follows **********************************I don’t know that these work to catch moths because, although we have the moths present in the house, none have been caught by this. What they have caught is a large spider, two wood lice and several smaller spiders, so they don’t only attract the male of the clothes/carpet moths that are the problem, but other insects as well (or instead of). So, they appear to be indiscriminate catchers of insects and, in the absence of having caught any clothes moths, they don’t seem to do that job. I will come back to update one way or the other, but it isn’t looking like a success at this point and I don’t like the fact I am catching other insects, particularly as there is no sign of a single moth.

They work!
I bought this product after the moths had made inroads into my stair carpet - I was blaming the cat! Since using this product the moth damage has not increased & I shall continue using them. They are easy to set up & you can see the moths attracted to them almost straightaway. There is no detectable smell (to humans, anyway).

Not very effective
This was simple to assemble, but after 4 weeks it has only got one moth, and I can see there are more flying around.

Great moth alert system
About 6 months ago we bacame aware of a carpet moth problem in our home, as a result of which we spent more than £100 on various moth killers (powders, sprays, moth balls, smoke bombs). We didn't mess about, if ou know what I mean ;)Initially I had read that pheromone traps were all but useless in fighting a moth infestation, but later discovered that it's all about what you use them for. Apparently professional pest control people use moth traps not to kill moths but to identify whether moths are present in a particular room and to gauge the extent of the infestation. That's how I've been using these for the past few months - I do the sprays, the powders, and the moth balls in cupboards and drawers, wait a month or so, then leave these pheromone traps in dark places loved by mohs, such as under beds and in built-in wardrobes, and see if I catch anything.I like these traps as they are cheaper than most alternatives, are quite discreet (e.g. can be placed under the bed or in a wardrobe where they won't be seen by viditors), and they work! After our first round of moth extermination I caught two moths in my traps, then I re-applied my various moth killers, and now I haven't caught anything for 3 months! It's great, as it saves you from wasting expensive moth sprays and powders on rooms with no moths in them, not to metion the hassle and the pain of keeping your dog out of the areas you've sprayed, etc.I'll be definitely buying again and leaving these traps around the house as an early warning system. I think we've managed to get rid of the moth problem in our house for now, but I'm aware that the little b*ards can easily be re-introduced... It is good to know that I will not have to spray and powder any rooms again until I catch a moth. They are my peace of mind pheromone traps :)
