I am a security technician by trade, I wanted to try these ti compare to $40-$80 Irwin step bits. I found they fairly well on aluminum doors or drilling large holes for cabling and door contacts. They didn’t work extremely well on steel doors , but did the job as needed. I wouldn’t recommend him for somebody who is drilling steel doors every day they wouldn’t last very long. But for your average couple door jobs s year, they would work for the price. On steel doors I always use drilling oil and it makes a big difference.

Work as described. Hold the sharpness after using to drill through several 3/8” stainless plates. Easy to control depth. Very satisfied.
