If you’re one of the many folks who have purchased a NAF after hearing the enchanting sound of this magical instrument; only to find out that you have no idea of how to begin; then, this is one of the best places to start. Clear, incremental steps, good exercises and practice plans, great online resources. While the book may be best suited to supplementing individual or group lessons, it is an excellent guide and resource for beginner and novice players. BYW. so is Ami if she’s still giving lessons. Unconditional 5 stars.

I really liked the thoroughness of this book! You can go from an absolute beginner to an intermediate player. There are songs, scales, exercises, and internet links. I think the book is very well thought out! I also liked the sense of spirituality. This is a great resource for both students and teachers! I highly recommend this book!

This book is well organized and written. The reason I give it 3 stars is because this book is written for flutes in the key of F. Which is fine, the only issue is that I didn't see anywhere in the description bon amazon about what key of flute it was written for. The fingering on NAF is different for each flute depending on the key the flute is in. So if you don't have a flute in the key of F the fingering tabs in this book will be incorrect for your flute. My flute is in A minor and even though I was unsure if this book would work for my flute even though there is no mention of the key in Amazon description. If my flute was in the key of F I would have given it 5 stars. I am unsure if I will keep the book or send it back. Had the key been noted in the description on Amazon I probably would not have bought it.

This book is an instructional and artistic masterpiece. I have had it now for three weeks and find that the lessons are helping me to understand and play the flute that I have owned for some years and previously tried to learn to play without success, Many thanks to the author.
