Best air mattress ever!
My wife and I are old and beat up. Both of us had careers which saw us with many broken bones, sprains, strains, cuts, bruises, etc. This mattress is the first thing we've slept on in years that we sleep through the night and get up with no pain. We tend to use air mattresses as our primary mattress because even those new memory foam ones are not cushy enough. It's very easy to set up. Find where you want to put it, plug it in, and go have a sandwich. When you come back, it's ready to finish setting up with the topper and mattress cover. I recommend the Milliard Premium Terry Hypoallergenic 100-Percent Waterproof model. Reason being, it helps hold the topper in place, and is thick enough to insulate you from the cold feeling most air mattresses give. We're also not tiny, and the mattress holds us well. My wife is 6 foot and 200 lbs, and I'm 6 foot 3 inches and 240 lbs.Since we purchased the model with the topper and added a terry cloth mattress cover as well, it's not cold or bumpy at all either. Even our dogs, a 4 year old Australian Shepard and a 4 month old Dachshund/Boston Terrier mix (yes it is odd, and she does look weird) love it. If you have dogs and they like to sleep in bed with you, definitely get the topper and a mattress cover. We've been sleeping on this thing for a month now, and I can't say I've even heard the pump topping it off once. I don't know if it's that quiet or if the mattress is that air tight. Either way, I'm extremely happy with it.update: After 4 months, it has stretched out a wee bit and the topper doesn't fit too well any more. We adapted by making it fit up at the top only, since our legs are so battered they don't feel too much any more anyway. The other adaptation we made was to inflate it almost all the way and then unplugging it, so as to allow us a spot in the middle we can cuddle up in and sink into. This defeats the purpose of the auto pump, but if even the plush setting is still too firm for you this might be a fix. The mattress is stout enough though that adding air to it once a week or so is no big deal. Just do it when you change sheets.update: It lasted a year. A seam started to leak. We tried to patch it using the included patch kit. It just continued to get bigger, and then with a noise like a mighty fart, it failed catastrophically. Still, not bad. I would buy another one, but I found a great deal here on Amazon for one of those foam mattresses, which we enjoy very much as well.

"It was like sleeping on a REAL bed."
We had family coming into town and needed a new air mattress for them. The Aero beds we were accustom to where failing after a few years and I have been disappointed in the quality in recent purchases. It was time to explore other brands and quickly this Serta stood out, both from the excellent reviews but the reasonable price. The package arrived quickly, thanks to Amazon Prime, and I was very pleased with the quality of the mattress when taking it out of the box. The mattress felt durable and the pump cord was long enough to easily reach the wall outlet. I mention this because the air pump is built into the mattress. This was how my original Aero Bed was years ago and I prefer it this way. The reason is the bed pumps itself without you having to sit there with it the entire time, holding a pump in place. And with the auto-shutoff feature, I just plugged the pump in and it completely inflated itself in 4-5 minutes unattended. (OK, I was in the room but I wasn't hovering over the bed) I've never had an airbed that was so easy to set up. There are three settings so you can control the firmness of the bed automatically which is also a nice feature.Great, but how comfortable is the bed? None of these conveniences matter if you don't get a good night sleep. The next day my parents sat down for breakfast and I asked them just that - how did they sleep? They both were ecstatic about how comfortable the bed was - "It was like sleeping on a REAL bed." They loved it so much they plan on ordering one for when we visit. My dad told me the thing he loved the most was how the mattress held its shape. With most airbeds, if he was already in bed an my mom climbed in, the air mattress would tilt and he would end up sliding over to her side. With the Serta air mattress this didn't happen - he stayed in place. The mattress was also high enough that they were able to easily get out of bed without a struggle. We've only had this a week but I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone that needs something for overnight guests and doesn't want to sacrifice on quality or value.
