I've done some projects by using the pipe purchased from big box stores. Now that I've discovered the Amazon supply, I will never go back. This stiff is WAY cheaper than what you will get locally. Now, to be fair, the stuff in the stores is meant to be used as designed, for plumbing. Once you break way from that need, the cost to manufacture and produce these items goes WAY down, which equals a much lower price point for the end user. I started with one main project, but since have branched to several different DIY projects and this stuff works great. I used 1" pipe to make a handrail for the stairs, 1" pipe for my gym and hanging weights, 1/2" for shelves and miscellaneous pieces, and have some upcoming plans using 3/4". Its easy to work with and looks awesome when painted (I've been using flat black on most of my projects).

I made an iron pipe shelf and these caps were to top the posts off. All the other items arrived, but box was damaged and the caps were missing, which I assumed fell out along the way.

These were perfect for storing my free weights. These parts cost less than half what Olympic weight holder would have cost and it saved more floor space. I think I spent roughly $60. They mounted very securely on 2x4s.

the caps are a rough casting and the threads are in at an angle. the wall thickness varies and that concerns me because i cap off many gal lines and for safety reasons i wont use these.

There is a seam that goes over the top of these that I needed for file down for esthetics. Besides that, they did the job.

These actually worked quite well and were of good quality. I ended up not needing them and sent them back. The one note I would make is that they do make the end of the the piece you are working with a bit longer so mine ended up being slightly uneven in the project I was working on and therefore couldn't use them as I needed all my end pieces to be exactly the same.

These caps were perfect for my project. Exactly as described and look in the picture. Color is a nice gunmetal grey and they fit perfectly on the 1/2” piping I’m using. Will definitely buy again when I need more!
