Fated

Personally, I found that this was a good read. it gave the slated trilogy a lot more context. As someone in a similar position to the teenagers portrayed in the novel - unable to vote but old enough to have to deal with the consequences of other people's decisions - I found that this book dragged up a lot of interesting discussion points. [MINOR SPOILERS] For me, certain parts of the book made me feel very uncomfortable, such as the introduction of the death penalty, as I am strongly against such things. However, I think that these moments made the message behind the book even more powerful. As much as I enjoyed it, the reason I have only given it four stars is that I did not find the plotline or writing particularly complex or challenging.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it an interesting read at a time when the country is at unrest in real life. It was strange to read about riots and climate and laws when Brexit is going on. I am now going to re-read the books that follow.
