2003 Honda CRV "D" drive on dash was flashing. Would not turn off. Contacted a transmission technician - They wanted $40 to drive vehicle and diagnose issue on machine (reasonable) I researched the issue, contacted a Honda Dealer-was quoted a price of $140 for the sensor. Found the part on Amazon for way under $40. Found a U tube video - Decided to locate the sensor from the bottom, rather than pull the battery from top. Once I found the sensor next to the transmission, it took a couple of minutes to see how to disconnect the old one. After that I was done in a few short minutes. I saved myself a few hundred $ by taking the time to research the issue and doing it myself. Thanks Amazon!!!!

I installed it on my 03 CR-V three weeks ago and it has not given me any issue. I hope it last a long time.

For those that have dealt with changing this part, which is the third gear pressure sensor switch for a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, you know it was because the "D" drive light would start flashing sporadically; sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't. It never caused the check engine light to come on. After I replaced the factory unit with this one, it worked great for four days, then completely failed, causing the drive light to flash every single time I drove the truck, and the shifting became rough. I purchased the OEM replacement, installed it, and I haven't had an issue since. Sometimes it's best to just pay a little more from the start and do it right the first time.
