THIS REALLY WORKS!!
Wow!! Our corn and beans were being destroyed by the beetles. Bought this, put up one and in less than half a day, the bag was over half full. We empty ours out every morning. Take a trash bag out with you to where ever you have it. Make sure it is a strong trash bag. Oh, and they do stink! I then toss our dead beetles into our burn barrel (live out in the country)So glad we purchased this

catches bugs!
works great. Velcro is strong on the bottom, not sure what those other comments were about (saying the bag opens up, it doesn't). What I like about these is even in heavy rain the velcro at the bottom lets out the water without letting out the bugs. Easy to empty. Hopefully I can get some new bait next year, the bait they sent works well but I assume it gets less effective with age. Caught a ton of japanese beetles. The number 1 tip for newbies: Empty it often and use a hose to clean it (and the velcro) before sticking it back together. Rotting japanese beetles stink! Don't leave their rotting corpses on the velcro or it won't stick back together well.

Effective control!
Other than being kinda expensive, these did the job well. I used two of them on two acres, put them out in the beginning of July and left them all season. My flowering climber and apple trees did not get decimated like they did last year. Though there was still a little damage, it was not enough to be a problem. The twist ties that they came with didn’t hold up to our rural Midwest winds, so I suggest tying them up with some strong twine before you encounter this issue.I cannot speak to the ease of dumping the beetles out of the Velcro-like bottom into the trash as I never actually did that- we caught a lot of beetles but it never filled up, and I was deterred by the pain (and gross factor) of killing them first. If I had chickens, they would have made a tasty snack!Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the results, and have a few more left unused that will hopefully still be effective for next year.

works immediately and held up to extreme weather
This product does exactly what it says. The first day each had trapped dozens of Japanese beetles. These have really helped with an infestation of our apple trees and basil. At one point, we were out of town when a heavy storm rolled through (2+ inches of rain according to our weather station) and they all held up. The smell is quite pleasant and strong enough to be smelt (and attract beetles) from far away. As long as I can find replacement packs of the attractant, I will definitely buy these again.

Nice natural way
These beetles attacked my grape vine with such a fury! I tried several things that I read online but did seem to decrease number. I also didn't want to try any harsh chemicals that could be catastrophic to the bee population. These bags are wonderful. They worked quickly! I am a little nervous if larvae have been introduced into the root system but we will handle that it issues arise next spring. Hopefully, we didn't get to that point.

wow, in less than 20 minutes already trapped about 50 beetles
i have a lot of fruit trees and live in Kentucky, the Japanese beetles destroy them every year. This year I am fighting back using this product which I just received today. It takes like 1 minute to assemble them and is pretty straight forward. I hung 3 of them in my 1 acre mowed areas near my fruit orchard and garden. As I was hanging the 3rd one (so maybe 15 minutes had passed since I hung the first one), I went over to check the first 1 I had hung and it already had about 40-50 beetles in it. WOW!!! Def recommended.

Unit does not stay together
I ordered and immediately put out four of these. The unit will not stay together, wind blows and it comes apart. I tried putting back together and re-hanging several times - not worth the trouble of having to put it back up every other day. This product is sub-standard.

Disappointed with quality
I am so disappointed in these this year. We purchase them every year. Something has changed (manufacturer) but the scent piece doesn’t not stay together with the bag. I’ve never had them break off by their twist ties before. Out of 8, we have 3 that we could save. Only had them hanging for about 5 days.
